HTCPCP/1.0 — Human Teapot Compliance Certification Portal

April Fools Challenge Submission ☕️🤡

🫖 HTCPCP/1.0 — Human Teapot Compliance Certification Portal

"Any attempt to brew coffee with a teapot should result in the error code 418 I'm a teapot."
RFC 2324, Section 2.3.2

This is a submission for the DEV April Fools Challenge 2026.

🏛️ What I Built

I have developed the HTCPCP/1.0 Human Teapot Compliance Certification Portal, a high-fidelity biometric terminal designed to enforce RFC 2324 (Hyper Text Coffee Pot Control Protocol).

Since April 1, 1998, the world has ignored the legal mandate that teapots shall not brew coffee. This terminal uses advanced "Ceramic Density Scanning" (Vision AI) and "Steam Pressure Analysis" (Voice Recognition) to determine if a human subject is, in fact, a teapot.

🛠️ How I Built It

  • AI Brain: Powered by Gemini 1.5 Flash (via Google AI API) to analyze camera frames for ceramic glaze, spout trajectories, and handle symmetry.
  • Voice Synthesis: Web Speech API with custom low-pitch modulation to simulate an unhinged, bureaucratic tribunal voice.
  • Frontend: A vanilla JS/CSS3 "Retro-Terminal" engine featuring CRT scanline emulation and 60fps "Night Vision" filters.
  • Chaos Protocol §11: A custom logic loop that detects subject silence and treats it as an "admission of teapothood," triggering automated roasts.

🏆 Prize Categories

1. Best Ode to Larry Masinter

This project is a 1:1 technical tribute to Larry Masinter’s legendary 1998 RFC. Every line of code exists to enforce Section 2.3.2, ensuring that no teapot—biological or otherwise—ever attempts to brew coffee again.

2. Best Google AI Usage

I utilized Gemini 1.5 Flash to perform real-time "Teapot Biometrics." The AI doesn't just roast the user; it uses multimodal vision to find "spouts" in the user's environment and converts their "Ceramic Density" into a measurable Teapot Quotient.
