If you develop mobile apps for Android, Flutter, or React Native, you know the pain: taking screenshots, transferring them to your desktop, dropping them into Figma or Photoshop templates, tweaking bezels, and re-exporting multiple resolutions for Google Play and the App Store.
I built ADBSnap to automate this entire workflow down to a single second.
ā” What is ADBSnap?
ADBSnap is an open-source tool available on NPM and the VS Code Marketplace that:
- Streams live device frames into RAM: Captures directly from physical Android devices or emulators over ADB without leaving junk files on your device.
- Wraps in 4K Vector Bezels: Composites pixel-crisp bezels (iPhone 16 Pro with Dynamic Island, Google Pixel 9 Pro, Android Tablets, or Frameless canvas).
- Applies Studio Gradients & Auto-Typography: Renders marketing headlines, subtitles, and rating badges directly above the device.
- 1-Click App Store & Play Store Bundler: Exports all required screenshot dimensions into a ready-to-upload ZIP archive.
- Wireless ADB Suite: 1-click toggle between USB and Wi-Fi debugging with Android 11+ pairing support.
š Quick Start
1. Launch the Interactive Visual Studio
You can run it right now from any terminal without installing anything:
bash
npx adbsnap studio
It boots an ultra-fast visual studio (< 15ms startup) in dedicated frameless desktop app mode.
2. Install Globally via NPM
npm install -g adbsnap
Then capture and frame your active screen with a single command:
adbsnap snap --title="Track Daily Habits" --theme=sunset --device=pixel-9-pro
3. VS Code Extension
If you prefer staying inside your editor, install the official extension directly from the Marketplace:
Search for adbsnap in the VS Code Extensions tab, or
Run code --install-extension shriramsingh.adbsnap
You can snap live screens and paste formatted mockups directly into your PR descriptions, release notes, or Markdown docs.
