Back in 2020 of pandemic, I hangout at discord very much. But when 2021 my account got disabled, I just noticed that I staying in discord and didn’t looks at the outside. I make this blog to present to everyone.
There are many reasons that I found online and experienced from myself.
Discord don’t have any security. You can get hacked by hacker easily. You can find many hacker try to hack your discord accounts and server. Discord had low security. Discord server hack and raid is common throughout the platform.
Discord also have many limit. You can’t screen-share to a specific limit. You can’t stream to a high quality. Discord also have a 8MB upload limit for free users. 50MB for premium users.
Discord things cost high. You need to buy nitro ( premium ) for $4.99 only for a months. You need $49.99 to buy for a year. After it end, u can continue to paid or don’t have the benefits. If u want to built a game, you need to buy a license. It will cost you $25. Don’t forgot that you can only upload 50 emojis to your discord server. You also need 30 boosts to get to 100MB upload sizes for your server members. 1 Server Boost cost $4.99 per month.
Discord disabled users accounts for no reason. If discord think you should go, they will try to disabled your discord accounts. Sometimes your discord accounts got disabled for no reason. You are 13 and you didn’t said / claim / joke you are 12 and one day they disabled your accounts saying that u are underage. They need your photo id to prove but you don’t know what they will do with your photo id.
Discord also had two background. There only light and dark mode. There no other background for you to choose. You also can’t upload your photo for your background. Some of discord don’t even have dark mode.
Discord server moderator also rude. Most of them abuse their power by banning and unbanning users. They also kick and mute you just for no reason.
Discord staff also not so kind. They sometimes reject to give info about users question. They ignored users report of bad thing happening at their platform. They also abuse their power. They ban u from their platform and unban u after a few minutes to play joke. For a 100 million platforms, it is not good. They have power to do whatever at the database they wanted. They exchange things to ban an users and unbanning again. They always abuse power against users.
Discord support page also full with users question. The support didn’t even reply to users. Discord staff take ages to reply to your ticket.
You can find many scammers and fake server in discord. They just want you to join their discord server. Discord didn’t even care about all this discord servers.
You can find many users at many server being rude. They would post horrible photo. Bully is common in discord and discord don’t care.
They don’t care about your help to their app or website.I recently make a ticket of someone are committed self-harm of me at server or dm, they will only tell you to block them and don’t protect u. They also wouldn’t give u a tiny benefits for making bots. If u make gadget for the app for it to be better, they would ban u instead of thanks for your help. If u make a game for discord and want to submit it, they wouldn’t give u benefits but cost u high.
Curse, bad words is common through out discord. All of them would be rude or curse you.
Everything u do on discord will be logged to a file. They would have access to it. All the connection u linked also will be logged. All the messages u think u delete is still access able using that file. You also get tracked on the platform of outside of it without permission.
There are many apps like discord. Slack, Flock, Telegram and more. They have all the feature and more for totally free.
I maybe will quit discord or leave my accounts at there doing nothing. I made this article to let users to know the dark side of discord. I wish u all love my articles. I will keep refreshing it as well.

FYI Slack is more expensive than discord : 6.25€ per month per user for the Standard version, 11.75€ per user for the Plus version, so in a company of 50 people you end up at 587€ (~ $700) each month.
There are even more restrictions on the free accounts, the main one being that your history is limited to 10000 lines for the whole server (including private conversations), which means that on a very active server you can"t even read the message from the day before.
I don't use Discord so I'm not defending it, but saying that slack is a free alternative is just plain wrong.

Discors has security. Just use a proper password and enable 2FA, and don't download and run programs strangers.
I find that streams are good enough quality if the host has good connection. Nitro was never a need. I've used Discord for 4 years and never even thought I needed Nitro. You get a ton of features for free. Ever considered that?
If you have problems with bullying and rude moderators then you use the wrong kind of servers. Moderators are free to do whatever they want in their servers, they are not affiliated with Discord. If they choose to allow bullying, then that server isn't for you.
Discord staff are responsible for the app and have the power to do what they want. Moderating is often hard and sometimes you have to take actions you don't want. You will surely encounter similar things in any kind of online communit, not just Discord.
They don't owe you anything, so stop acting like it's all their fault. If your friends swear, which you don't like, do you go to the school and complain? Or do you go find new friends? It's not the schools fault they are swearing. You just have to adapt to your preferences. Hang out in servers that have the rules you want, no swearing and no bullying.
