This is how I built my first script to detect attacks in Python.
- How many hours do security analysts spend manually reviewing logs?
🛑 As a Cybersecurity student, I wanted to understand how to automate this task and put theory into practice.
That's why I've been working on LogSentinel-Lite, a lightweight Python script designed to assist with Blue Team tasks and threat analysis. 🛡️💻
What exactly does it do?
📊 It reads and parses log files (such as authentication logs).
🔍 It automatically detects suspicious patterns, such as potential brute-force attacks based on multiple failed login attempts from the same IP address.
⚡ It generates a clear report in the console to expedite incident triage.
It's a simple project, but ideal for taking your first steps in detection and automation engineering with Python. I'd love to hear your thoughts or suggestions for improvements! 🚀
