Always been interested in technology. When I was about 14 I chose two books from the library on C++ and Java, and then tried some stuff in Notepad++. I promptly returned the book on Java lmao. Was also interested in hacking and tried out port scanners and other things. After that I messed around with JS and Python on Codecademy in my late teens. Took a programming paper at college which used Visual Basic (eugh) but I enjoyed it. Did another paper in networking and security at university as I wanted to be a backend engineer before covid hit. Eventually decided to bite the bullet and become a developer, backend specifically, because I enjoyed networking/security/cryptography/doing things with data and I could work from home. Here I am. Ta-da!

wow cool !!! I am like you, I love more the backend and cybersecurity.
I love to code in Python, although it has been criticized for Everything-wrong-in-the-world / second language I like is JavaScript.
VBA is the most hated language according to stack overflow survey of 2021, so i know what you mean :) plus i worked in VBA professionally for 3 years , and i can't say i hate it but i definitely don't like it!
