LogicalDOC title matches lead to inherited ACLs and web services
LogicalDOC is a document management system in which a user can inherit privileges from several groups. That inheritance is efficient for administration and dangerous to assume during an external exposure review. The relevant boundary is the document repository, not the product logo.
LogicalDOC's documentation says users may belong to more than one group and inherit the access privileges assigned to all of them. Groups carry permissions and can inherit from a parent group. The built-in web service and REST API expose document operations to integrations. A deployment that looks like a small login page may therefore have a large service integration surface behind it.
A small title count with a larger review scope
The live query title="LogicalDOC" returned 20 matches on 2026-11-01 at sub_type=all, page 1, and pagesize 1. The app="LogicalDOC" query returned 0. Twenty is a modest discovery count, not a low-risk certificate. It may reflect a custom title, a gateway that rewrites the page, or a fingerprint value not covered by the exact product-name query.
The count describes matching internet assets. It does not identify which repositories are public, which integrations are active, or whether an inherited group grants more access than the administrator intended. Those facts require application-level evidence.
Review the union of privileges
Build a test account for each group combination used by real teams. Check a document directly assigned to one group, a child group, and a parent group. Then test a document with overlapping user and group permissions. The result should match the documented inheritance rule and the intended business boundary.
Inventory every enabled web service and REST endpoint. Record the authentication method, the calling application, and the account it uses. A service account with a broad repository role should not be reachable by a partner integration that only needs one folder. Check whether old API clients remain enabled after a migration.
Review storage and search indexing as separate paths. A user may be denied in the UI while a full-text search result, thumbnail cache, or exported file remains available through a proxy. Test a document that the identity cannot query directly and confirm that all derived representations enforce the same ACL.
Group inheritance is not a vulnerability by itself. It becomes a practical exposure when the effective union is broader than the data owner understands. For each external instance, document the account, group set, document scope, service endpoint, and verification result.
