What I Learned From Hacktoberfest
This year, with campusing and placement activities in full flow, contributing to projects that would require lots of time and effort was a bit of a challenge. I was focusing mostly on Data Structures and Algorithms for interview preparation. As I browsed through the repositories tagged with Hacktoberfest, I found a few where the maintainers were aiming to create a repo that can serve as a go-to place to find the implementation of all the important algorithms and that too in different languages. So, I contributed to some of those repositories as my participation in the Hacktoberfest. Though this was not what a normal open source contribution would be, I learned a lot from the codes submitted by other contributors and it served both purposes, preparation for jobs as well as open-source contribution.
