HoldBook: sample hold times without the fragile lab spreadsheet

Hold times break lab days. BOD is due tonight; hex chrome may already be late; the VOA cooler is fine if the collection timestamps in the shared spreadsheet are right.

HoldBook is a free, local-first sample hold-time workpaper for environmental samplers and analytical lab login. No account. No upload. Data stays in the browser.

What you get

  • Sample register: IDs, project, cooler, matrix, method, collection / receipt / analyzed times
  • Method presets with typical hold hours (editable) — VOA, SVOA, metals, BOD, coliform, hex Cr, and more
  • Hold clock from collection or lab receipt; freezes when marked analyzed
  • Expired and at-risk flags; attention list sorted soonest-first
  • Rollups by method, project, and cooler
  • Hold chase CSV for the daily standup

Honest limits

Not a LIMS or electronic chain-of-custody system of record. Hold hours are typical defaults — confirm every limit against your QAPP and method SOPs.
