Your Input Needed: 5-Minute Survey on use of AI-generated code in Software Development

My name is Syed Mohammad Kashif, and I am currently conducting a research study at Wuhan University, focusing on the use of AI-generated code (generated using ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) in software development. I request all developers on this platform to participate in the developers survey and share your valuable thoughts.

Please participate by following this link: https://forms.gle/2ko4BNWViRdvAvgW8

As AI-code generation tools, such as GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT, are increasingly integrated into software development, the use of AI-generated code is becoming more common among developers. In our research, we found that developers often self-declare AI-generated code in their code comments. To explore this further, we are conducting a survey to understand the motivation behind self-declaring and the reasons behind not self-declaring AI-generated code.

The survey will take approximately 5 minutes and includes a mix of closed-ended and open-ended questions. Your feedback will greatly help us understand how AI-generated code is being used in real-world projects.

We will share the survey results with all participants after the study to help you better understand the self-declaration of AI-generated code in practice. Please be assured that your survey responses will be kept strictly confidential, and you will not be identified in any reports or publications resulting from this study.

Thank you for your time and effort!
