Quoridor in 60 seconds
Your goal is simple: get your pawn to the opposite side of the board before your opponent does.
Each turn you choose one action:
- Move your pawn one square (orthogonal — not diagonal), or
- Place one wall that blocks a path
Walls cannot be jumped. You walk around them. You also may never fully seal every path to a goal — at least one route must remain open for every player.
Jumping pawns
If an opponent’s pawn sits on an adjacent square, you can often jump over them (like checkers, but only if the landing square is free and not blocked by a wall). Jumps are one of the biggest beginner mistakes people miss — they steal tempo.

1) Play vs AI first
Open WallRush Pro, pick AI, and start on an easier difficulty. You’ll learn wall timing without a live opponent rushing you.
2) Private room with a friend
Create a private room, send the room code or invite link, and play unranked. Best way to learn together.
3) Public / ranked once you’re ready
Join a public room for 1v1 or four-player tables. Ranked points give you a reason to improve, but don’t jump here on day one.
Beginner strategy (that actually helps)
- Race early, wall late — new players waste walls on turn 3. Save a few for the endgame.
- Never wall yourself in — after every wall, ask: “Can I still reach my goal?”
- Count remaining walls — if your opponent is out of walls, you can often push a straight race.
- Watch the move clock — WallRush Pro uses a timer; plan while the other player thinks.
- In four-player, chaos is normal — protect your path more than you attack others.
