PromptPerfect Is Sunsetting — Here's What I Switched To

PromptPerfect sunsets September 1, 2026. Elastic acquired Jina AI for their embedding models — the prompt tool wasn't part of the plan. No new signups after June, data cleanup by October 1.

If it's been in your workflow, this is a good moment to upgrade. Here's what I've been using and why it clicked.

The context engineering shift

You've probably noticed the conversation has moved from "prompt engineering" to what Karpathy calls "context engineering." Less about clever phrasing, more about structuring context windows effectively, grounding outputs to reduce hallucinations, managing prompts across multiple models simultaneously, and measuring quality with real metrics, not vibes.

PromptPerfect was solid for the 2023 version of this. The 2026 version needs different tools — and honestly, the tools that exist now are pretty great.

What I switched to

Prompeteer.ai approaches prompts the way developers approach code quality — with measurable signals and structured feedback.

Prompt Score — like a linter for your prompts

Every prompt scores across 16 dimensions: clarity, specificity, context depth, anti-hallucination markers, reasoning structure, and more. You see exactly what's strong and where a small change would make a real difference. Not a vague "improved" label — actual structured feedback you can act on.

Output Grade — closes the loop

Output Grade evaluates the AI's response after your prompt runs. So you're not just optimizing the input — you're measuring whether it actually worked. That before-and-after feedback loop is something PromptPerfect never offered, and it changes how you think about improving results over time.

Agentic Contextual Prompting Platform — research-grounded generation

Built on analysis of 200+ prompting techniques and ICLR 2025 findings. Constructs prompts using evidence-based frameworks rather than pattern-matching. Supports standard, extended thinking, system, and agent prompt types — making it genuinely useful for agentic workflows. Fewer hallucination-prone outputs, better reasoning chains.

PromptDrive — your prompt library

Every prompt auto-saves to PromptDrive. Tag, organize, search. When you migrate from PromptPerfect, this is where your prompts live next — a visual library that grows with you across devices.

140+ platform targets

Specify the target and get output tuned to that model's strengths — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Midjourney, DALL-E, Suno, Runway, and 130+ more.

The developer-friendly parts

  • Chrome Extension — real-time Prompt Score inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok. Install it.
  • Arena Mode — side-by-side model comparison with Output Grade overlay
  • MCP Server — integrate prompt generation into agentic workflows
  • 129 languages — 44 countries, 6 continents — and growing by the minute

Getting started

  1. Sign up at prompeteer.ai/login — Google, LinkedIn, or email. No credit card.
  2. Install the Chrome extension for real-time Prompt Score
  3. Paste your existing prompts into PromptDrive — auto-scored with improvement suggestions
