Writing a research paper is hard enough without fighting with citation formats, outline structures, and cover page layouts.
I built 10 free research paper & publishing tools that run entirely in your browser — no signup, no uploads, no data collection. Your research stays private.
What's included?
Citation & Bibliography:
- Citation Generator — APA 7, MLA 9, Chicago 17, Harvard, IEEE, Vancouver. Enter source details, get all 6 formats at once
- Bibliography Generator — Add multiple sources, generate a complete bibliography, export as BibTeX
- DOI Lookup Tool — Paste a DOI, get the full paper metadata + auto-generated citations from CrossRef
Writing & Structure:
- Research Paper Outline Generator — Pick your paper type (experimental, argumentative, literature review) and discipline. Get a detailed hierarchical outline
- Abstract Generator — Enter your findings and methodology, get a structured abstract with background, methods, results, conclusion
- Thesis Statement Generator — 5 thesis variations per topic with strength scoring and improvement tips
- Research Paper Title Generator — 10 discipline-specific title suggestions per topic
Research Planning:
- Literature Review Matrix — Organize sources in a sortable table with relevance scoring. Export as CSV
- Research Methodology Selector — Take a 7-question quiz, get matched with the best methodology for your study
- Cover Page Generator — APA, MLA, Chicago, IEEE formatted cover pages with live preview. Download as PNG or PDF
AI-enhanced (where it helps)
Four of the tools (Abstract, Title, Thesis, Outline) use a 3-tier AI system:
- Chrome AI (if available in your browser)
- Transformers.js (runs a model locally — works offline after first download)
- Rule-based templates (always works, no AI needed)
The AI enhances output quality when available, but the tools work perfectly fine without it.
Why I built these
Most citation tools want your email. Most outline generators are behind paywalls. Most DOI lookup tools are buried in academic databases.
These run instantly in your browser. Your research data never touches a server. And they're free — no freemium limits, no "upgrade to export" tricks.
Try them: tool.teamzlab.com/research
All tools are open source and run client-side. Built with vanilla HTML/CSS/JS.
