I graduated with a Computer Science degree last year.
I hated math.
I was bad at law.
Didn’t care about business.
Was kinda into history.
But my parents wanted me in medicine.
Still, I chose Computer Science — with zero idea what I was getting into.
And honestly?
It opened way more doors than I expected. I can talk about it for hours, so let’s cut it short.
Here’s my take for 2026:
If you want to get into tech from scratch — no experience, no connections, no “my cousin works at Google” — Computer Science is still the safest entry point.
You get structure, credibility, and time to figure things out.
But…
If you already have a mentor, a roadmap, or someone in tech guiding you?
Just skip the degree. Self-studying is much quicker. Build projects, apply and get the job you want sooner.
So should you study CS in 2026?
It depends…
Not on the degree, but on where you’re starting from.

Is that some affiliate link or something?
Looks dodgy. Kind of off-ed the honest and open vibes for me.
Sorry. Forgot to mention that it was an affiliate link. but it has nothing to do with my personal opinion. It's just a platform that started all for me. HTML, CSS, JavaScript and etc.
