Enable Update Management:
Open the Azure portal and go to the virtual machine you want to enable Update Management for. Under the Updates section, click on Enable Update Management. Follow the prompts to enable the feature.
Configure update settings:
Once enabled, you can configure the update settings for your virtual machine. You can choose the update schedule, the update classifications, and the reboot settings. These settings will determine how updates are applied to your virtual machine.
Monitor update compliance:
After enabling Update Management, you can monitor the update compliance of your virtual machines. Go to the Update Management section in the Azure portal and click on the virtual machine you want to monitor. You will be able to see the compliance status of the virtual machine and details of the updates that have been applied or are pending.
Set up notifications:
You can set up notifications to receive alerts when there are updates available or when updates fail to install. Go to the Alerts section in the Azure portal and create a new alert rule for Update Management. You can choose the criteria for the alert and configure the notification settings.
Review update deployments:
You can review the update deployments that have been performed on your virtual machines. Go to the Update Management section in the Azure portal and click on the Virtual machine you want to review. You will be able to see the deployment history and the status of each deployment.
Troubleshoot failed updates:
If updates fail to install on your virtual machines, you can troubleshoot the issues using the Update Management feature. Go to the Update Management section in the Azure portal and click on the virtual machine that experienced the update failure. You will be able to see the status of the failed updates and the error details. From there, you can take appropriate actions to resolve the issue.
Schedule update deployments:
You can schedule update deployments to install updates on your virtual machines. Go to the Update Management section in the Azure portal and select the virtual machines you want to deploy updates to. Click on Schedule update deployment and configure the deployment settings, such as the update classifications and the schedule. Once configured, the updates will be applied to the selected virtual machines based on the schedule
