The benefits: better off-angle viewing than the Samsung VA, better color for any creative work you also do, and still 165Hz for gaming. The cost: slightly higher price than the Odyssey G5, and IPS doesn't achieve the contrast ratio that VA delivers.
For someone who games and does creative work on the same monitor, the 27GP850-B is the better blend than the pure-gaming Odyssey G5.
5. BenQ GW2780 — Best Budget Option
At the budget end of the 27-inch market, the BenQ GW2780 offers a 1080p IPS panel with ergonomic adjustment at a consistently low price. For someone who just needs a reliable second monitor or a monitor for a low-traffic workstation, BenQ has earned a reputation for reliable panels without surprise quality variance.
The 1080p resolution looks increasingly dated at 27 inches — the pixel density is noticeable. For close-up text work or image editing, the 4K monitors above are substantially better. But for a budget-conscious setup, media consumption, or a secondary display, it's reliable and affordable.
