How We Built a Real-Time Fashion Sizing Tool (and Why It Matters)

Clothing sizing is broken. Different brands use different size charts, and shoppers are left guessing — leading to frustration and unnecessary returns.

At Tellar.co.uk, we set out to fix this.

Our platform matches a user’s actual measurements to the correct size in over 1,500+ brands — in real-time. It’s free, simple, and it just works.

The Problem

  • Brands don’t agree on sizing
  • Return rates are high
  • Consumers are confused

Our Solution

Tellar takes your 3 key measurements — chest, waist, and hips — and compares them to standardised size data across hundreds of fashion retailers.

The result? You get your correct size, brand by brand, without guessing or checking outdated size charts.

The Fashion Hub

We also built the Fashion Hub — a free digital library of 4,000+ honest, unbiased fashion posts covering:

  • How brands fit (tight/true/loose)
  • How to shop smarter by body type
  • What sizes actually mean in different regions

Under the Hood

Tellar runs on a custom-built sizing engine, supported by a proprietary database of cross-referenced brand size charts, user measurement inputs, and logic that determines best fit based on largest measurement.

We're planning to expand into:

  • 3D virtual avatars
  • Jeans and footwear sizing
  • Menswear-specific tools
