Why Your Palm Beach County HVAC Site Isn’t Getting Calls (And How to Fix It)

Why Your Palm Beach County HVAC Website Isn’t Getting Calls

I’m Kaleb, a web developer here in Pompano Beach. Over the past year I’ve helped a handful of HVAC contractors in Palm Beach County get real phone‑call volume from their own sites. The pattern is the same: a site that looks fine on a desktop but disappears from the local search results when a homeowner pulls out their phone.

The three things that kill calls

  • No mobile‑first design – Most of our residents browse on iPhones or Androids while they’re on the patio or in the car. If the site takes more than 3 seconds to load or the “Call Now” button is hidden below the fold, the visitor leaves.
  • Missing or inconsistent NAP data – Google checks that the Name, Address, and Phone number on the site match the Google Business Profile and local directories. A typo in the zip code or a different phone format ((561) 555‑1234 vs 561‑555‑1234) tells Google the business isn’t trustworthy.
  • No local schema or service pages – A simple LocalBusiness schema with serviceType set to “air‑conditioning repair” and a page that targets “air conditioner repair West Palm Beach FL” gives Google the context it needs to surface the business when a homeowner searches for emergency service.

What I did for a local HVAC contractor

  1. Audit the existing site – I ran a Lighthouse report on a 3G connection, captured the load time (7 seconds) and identified that the call‑to‑action button was hidden in a hidden menu.
  2. Rewrite the header – I moved the phone number and a large “Call Now” button to the top of the page, styled it with a contrasting orange background, and added tel: links.
  3. Add structured data – Using JSON‑LD I added LocalBusiness and Service schema, explicitly listing the zip codes we serve (33401, 33405, 33407). This alone lifted the site from page 3 to page 1 for “air conditioner repair West Palm Beach”.
  4. Sync NAP everywhere – I updated the Google Business Profile, Yelp, and the site footer to use the exact same formatting: DreamCool HVAC, 123 Ocean Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33401, (561) 555‑1234.
  5. Speed‑up the mobile experience – I lazy‑loaded images, enabled Brotli compression, and switched the hero video to a lightweight WebP placeholder. Load time dropped to 2.4 seconds on a 3G test.

The result

Within two weeks the contractor’s phone‑call tracking number showed a 38 % increase in inbound calls from organic search. The most common query was “air conditioner repair West Palm Beach” – exactly the keyword we targeted with the new service page.

Quick checklist for any Palm Beach County service business

  • Mobile‑first layout with a visible phone link above the fold.
  • Consistent NAP across website, Google Business Profile, and local directories.
  • Structured data for LocalBusiness and each service you offer.
  • Page‑specific content that includes the city and zip codes you serve.
  • Page speed under 3 seconds on a 3G simulation.

If you’re an HVAC, plumbing, or landscaping business in Palm Beach County and your website isn’t generating calls, let’s talk. A 15‑minute audit costs nothing and often reveals a quick win.
