I am trying to share few thoughts on regular expressions with the community by clicking "Create Post" and all I get is pre-formatted space for a photo upload and a title entry. The rest of the screen is blank, no formatting buttons. Is that how it's supposed to be, am I missing some config in my profile or is there a switch I need to turn on?
You've got a text area where you can write, right? That's where we can write in markdown. So it's a much simpler way of writing something akin to HTML.
You can check out this Markdown guide to learn some basic syntax.

Hello World, self taught Dev here, recently quit my chef job (well I guess that's fun fact about me, always surprised Devs find that interesting😜, and of course, I've made recipe calculator app that I then used on my job).
I'm now dedicating most of my time (have also to leave time for family etc) to further learning, working on my projects and searching for a job.
At the moment I'm passionately working on fast typing physical keyboard input, it is already working as a proof of concept and am polishing it to be able to put it online in hope that it would trigger some interest.
Got interested in typing long time ago, especially since I've learned touch typing 6 years ago in a week or so, though since I don't really use typing in a kitchen, never really used this skill much. But over the years, whenever I position my fingers on home row, i could touch type, I've didn't forgot it, even though I didn't use it.
So when I started learning Chinese, I've started learning by typing it out, and it works really well, on mobile, I can type rather fast, as I type lot on mobile, but in mobile one can get just as fast.
So I started thinking about how to type faster with both hands on physical keyboard, and this is how idea for this fast typing keyboard was born.
Was working also on other projects, on some with seasoned developers. They also help lot in my learning experience, but greatest help was just by listening my ideas, giving me feedback, and showing me that I can learn writing code on my own.
I've found this platform while looking for ways to network with other Devs and I really like podcasts here.
Typing on mobile: former BlackBerry owner here... those were the times, one could type a novel on it... it was tough to let that device go... I miss my BBerry still...

Been working as front-end dev for a little more than a year, which is unfortune since it's basically what I like the less from everything I worked with so far, and for the meantime I also developed some really cool python scripts, worked with back-end, diped my toes at machine learning and computer vision where I gathered some skills and learned some always useful libraries like pandas, gspread, numpy, etc.
My next big point of interest, and to where I wish to make a smooth transiction to in my career, is solidity and web3.
I usually say I'm mastering being a jack of all trades (master of none) and I'm certain that joining this lovely community is a right step towards such goal.

Hello to all of you who are here for learning and share ideias , to create groupsor just help fellows in data and And computacional world. My name is Bruno. I'm from Brazil and til 2018, I was a Phd Professor in Economic Growth an Econometrics (Linear Algebra as well). So that, during - and so on.. I've been researching a lot in many different areas. I ve qui classes in 2018. At that period I already worked with R, Excel, socioeconomic data , Statistics etc. I love regression analysis, Spatial econometrics, ArcGis models in many areas like Health , Finance and poverty mitigation. A year ago I "ve started to be introduced at this Data Science, Devops, programming etc. World. Here I am! My background in Quantitative Methods, Game theory , working with data in Excel... became less tough to get into this Challenging and fascinating World. The present and the future... I start , for real 7 months ago. Became an R specialist, and, right now, I focused in get better as faster as I can in Python (doing good), JS, SQL, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and some AI. The DS path , right...?! I love back-end, and now I am studyng hard the fundamentals (Hard algorithms and Structures), in order to be able to adapt my skills in good programs... I'm very excited!! and completely available for your feedbacks, brainstorm, tips etc. As well as Helping in whatever I can. Advanced math or statistics, R, (the theoretical aproach) and any coding practice (not much yet... sorry) . I recorrent problem I see into this field of TI is the lack of many devs and newcomers from other areas regarding and concerned about this "Holy s... Calculus, functions, Matrices, analytical geometry ... and all these things, am I going to be able of dealing with? YES! Absolutely! If this is what your really desire, this can not be an excuse for giving up! The World is full of selfish and worst garbage of people; but I do believe that , if you strongly believe in yourself and keep in mind your goal (a trully goal from inside) good people will seek you during your journey. Despite my limitations, I will do my best every single day, and make this World a tiny better place for us, and for the next generation. Remember: Life is too short to be small. Make things happen. It's an honor to learn and share the "tomorrow" alongside all of you guys!! A big bottle of coffe (my cocaine).. and let's code.
