Hello dear dev.to community! I am Luciano. About 6 months ago I decided to learn some programming. I am currently in the #100daysofcode challenge and am in the 30 day. I made some progress in HTML and CSS so far and am currently learning Bootstrap 4 and JavaScript.
I can't say what my goal is yet. However, I am happy to learn a lot of new things every day.
Welcome! And good luck for the #100daysofcode 👍
hello 👋
hello
HI
Hello World
Kami.vn Kome.Cafe
Hey friends,
I'm Ebenezer Ndukwe, a passionate Frontend Developer who loves to convert User Interface designs into reusable codes. I so much love CSS, my friends call me Lord of CSS. I have over 3 years coding Experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js.
Here is my Portfolio Website ebenezy.dev
Hoping to write some articles with my few years of coding to share my thoughts and ideas.
Man, your website looks amazing! I love that style. When you're designing something, do you start with something that looks great and then work out the practical stuff, or do you make something functional and then make it look cool?
Thank you, Henry,
When designing something, I start with something that looks great and then work out the practical stuff.
The reason is, when your website is not looking great, nobody will bother to check the functionalities.
The good looks come first.
Welcome to the community Ebenezer. What a great website you have! 🙌
Thank you Vaibhav.
Hello! Welcome to the dev.to community! Your site look amazing! 🎉🙌
Hi everyone,
I'm JD. I used to do mostly backend stuff, but I've started migrating toward frontend.
I'm a huge fan of Javascript and it's ability to go anywhere, although I mostly write in Typescript these days.
I think privacy is important and I think more support is needed for browsers without Javascript or cookies enabled. I'm currently utilising CSS to make it do things it wasn't meant for, but makes a great alternative to JS.
Also, I have a soft spot for real time communications, such as IRC and it's modern day equivalents.
Welcome JD! The JS community is the most vibrant one around here, hope you enjoy your time reading and maybe even sharing some of those CSS tricks with the rest of us
hey guy! welcome!
Awwww wish you all the best with the new journey
Hello!
Hey JD! I also went from backend to frontend. Glad to hear of more Typescript fans!
Hello Dev.to community! my name is Mary,
Am pursuing a degree in computer Applications, in my final year, I hv learned many programming languages like c,c++,data structure, html & css with js, java and php, I hv a little knowledge of all these programming languages but am finding it difficult to choose which one is good for me. My goal is to become a software engineer. I need some advice on how to choose the best programming language.
Welcome, Mary! I suppose you can choose a programming language by asking yourself "What I'll be building or working on for the next couple of years?" Take that tech stack and learn that programming language, see if you're comfortable and are able to make projects or code on your own. That might be your next favourite programming language! Else, find an alternative.
I hope that helped. 😀
Thanks so much
Hey Mary, thanks for following me!
The best advice I can give is Web Dev. I am biased and here is why.
The web is So visible. non-tech savvy people can appreciate your work and its easy to get into and hard to master.
the stacks to build web are moving into other areas like VR and AR as well as Mobile dev with React Native, Ionic, webGL, ect...
No matter what you get into, you're not going to love or hate the languages, in my opinion, you are going to love or hate your commitment level to a skill. I recommend that you specialize in one thing and then diversify.
Thanks Tallan
Welcome on board, Mary.
I think you should focus on these firstly HTML & CSS and JavaScript, once you master these, then proceed to learn JavaScript Frameworks and you can fly from there because the trend is shifting towards that direction.
In the process, find your strength (Frontend or Backend or FullStack Developer)
This is what I also did and am excelling in these areas.
Hi all! I'm Chen, jack-of-all-trades engineer from Tel Aviv, Israel.
Currently heading engineering at a new startup.
Proud to join this excellent community and excited to learn as much as I can,
and to help others too!
Hi Chen
Me you both :)
Very excited to join the community and can't wait to learn from all the members.
Hi Chen. What kind of startup? Just out of curiosity. 🙃 I'm new here too!
Woah! What a friendly community.
Our startup: our team has been founding, growing, exiting and investing in companies for 20 years.
The problem we keep seeing: people are (generally) not effective communicators.
As companies grow, the issue becomes even more painful and
operations start to break down. leading to negative consequences for companies that CAN be prevented.
We're fixing it. Stay tuned :-)
Hi Chen, I'm Codin. May you find fortune in your future prospects.
Hi Everyone,
I am Ram, from the begging of my career started working in mobile development using Flutter. Slowly moving towards the web and started using Vue.js. Now heading towards React as it is very popular and personally started liking it.
Hello there! I'm using Flutter myself. What made you abandon it?
Hi Ram and welcome to DEV. You'll definitely get help and tips from others in React here!
Thank you
Hello.
I'm a life long code tinkerer. It has recently come to my attention that I'm better at programming than I thought. Now I just wanna get better. So the internet brought me here.
I use SAS at work, but I rather enjoy Python. I'm better at R though. I started my code tinkering with C and HTML. I think Julia is really cool but haven't had much time to tinker yet. I should probably learn Java? Or JavaScript?
Idk, I'm rambling. Looking forward to reading.
❤️, Lauren
Welcome Lauren, there are lots of Data Devs here who write about R and Python. Check out the #python tag for more folks to follow and let us know how you go :D
Hi Lauren, nice to meet you!

Hey All,
I’m Beatrice, Bea for short! I’ve been teaching myself HTML, CSS and JavaScript through online courses and evening classes.
At the beginning of the year, I was accepted on to a bootcamp which started at the beginning of Feb.
3 weeks in and I’ve been introduced to C#, .NET, Razor, APIs, MVC. Also we’ve learnt HMTL, CSS, JavaScript, UX/UI, Web accessibility and Web responsiveness.
I love CSS and how powerful it is - I can’t wait to learn more. Also I enjoy putting the user first when I’m coding.
So far, I’ve been loving my tech journey through the highs and lows.
My goal is to get my first role in tech preferably front end development but as I’m also learning back end dev too, I’m keeping myself open to new possibilities.
Hey! I'm Logan, a web developer from the USA.
Welcome to DEV!
Hi there! I am Iris and I am and IT student. In school we dont learn a lot about devolopment (which is a shame and kinda weird because its IT..) so I am taking matters in my own hands and join this community so I can learn :) I am familiar with HTML/CSS, Android, Windows and a little bit with Linux. I hope to learn a lot and maybe so much that I will ace my exams haha!
Namaste from Bharat,
Introducing myself, a Full-stack web & mobile Developer, and passionate JavaScript developer,

Hi dev.to community! I am Isselin. I took a part-time job creating website a year ago and was hooked with web development since. Currently a few months into first job as front-end developer, working with React and Redux, really enjoying what I'm doing right now. Looking to learn from everyone and any advices to build technical skill and solid foundation to be a better frontend dev.👍😊
Hey comrade developers how's going? Do you guys find that articles from this site keep on coming up more and more from Google search on technical terms? This is much better than Medium keeps on asking you to pay to read, Isn't it?!
Let's work together here by posting more to embrace the fact that knowledge is not a zero-sum game.
Hiii 👋,
I'm Lucas I'm writing code in JavaScript (Node, React) and i reallyy love Open source this is why I'm spending most of my time on Github.
If you have any project ideas or you just need some help it would be a pleasure to help. Do not hesitate to contact me, thanks and happy coding 🙂
Hey there guys!
I'm Manuel. I'm actually working as backend engineer (python/django) for a fintech company. I'm here to look in different direction than python to acquire new skills. I'm very, very interested in devops lately.
I found this community a post at reddit. It looks like a very instructive forum where I will certainly learn a lot of things.
I also hope to make new friends with the same way of thinking.
I have been an independent designer since 2008 and have been creating websites for small businesses and organisations for years.
Hello Dev community,
My name is Riva. I have keen interest in kniwing about Machine learning and it's concepts and have earlier did two projects using it's applications.
Lately I have developed interest for Cybersecurity and want to dig more in this field.
Planning to do some certifications on way.
Happy to be here.
I just woke up one morning to an article by one Prosper about "Who is Speaking on your behalf" and I couldnt help but read through to the very last word.
I am novice frontend developer who is in a career transition phase from building structures on land to building websites and the likes now using computers.
I am learning Javascript at this stage, to improve my frontend skills and will progress into React.js when I am fully sure I have grabbed enough of JS.
I am happy to be a recent addition to the Dev.to community and would maximise my learning experience in the best ways possible.
I cannot stress how excited I get when I listen to suggestions on best ways to grow in the industry and look forward to these kinds of advice.
Cheers guys
Hello friends from the community 👋, I learned the community when I checked the information.

Hello dev.to! I'm Mauro and I've been programming for over 15 years and I really like the great quality that some of the post that I found here.
Thank you!
I'm currently picking up Angular again, after using now AngularJS back in 2013/14. I has been a great evolution for this framework! What do you think?
I been also trying to revive the old Anemone gem in my fork "Medusa" (github.com/brutuscat/medusa) and I been looking for good use cases for this gem to build either open source tools or some tiny project of mine. Ideas?
Feedback is really appreciated. I work remotely and my contact with adults that actually write software is limited by distance and other 2 smaller human beings that request my time constantly.
Thank you!

Hello Great Minds, I am Abiola Joshua Olagunju. Early last year I switch my career path to become a software developer. Today, I am an expert in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and an Intermediate in JavaScript developer with basic knowledge in Reactjs. I am here to learn and acquire more knowledge to make me become an expert in coding. Thanks to you all.
Hello to all DEV'onauts...
I writing this introductory comment of my self again, as I apparently deleted the post I wrote this morning.
Once upon a time, black gold powered the world, now there is code!!!
My name is Gabriel, and some time ago (thirty plus years), I used to write programs the structured way, in what many people consider to be ancient languages (Fortran/Cobol). Since then, I haven't written any thing juicy, other than some software tools in C#, Java, some C and C++, but no bigger than 150 lines of code. I'm not an expert by any means on any of the aforementioned languages, I just picked at them enough to give the users what they needed.
Now that I have a bit more time on my hands, I'm getting back into real programming, well I hope so, I'm doing my best. I don't believe in the "You can't teach an old dog new tricks". So I started learning Python, Elixir, Elm, I mean, like I just started this month. Also learning some other IT related stuff that I like, not to mentioned that I have to keep on ploking at C# and Java, for the company I work for.
I'm sure I'l learn a lot from you guys, if you are willing to share and have patience with this old/newb programmer. And I hope I have some thing of value I could share with you, so I don't feel like a leech.
Sincerely...
code@50
Hellow guys, my name is Cristi, i'm from Romania, I started a project at androidpen.com , it is a tech blog , for tools and tutorials . The domain is 1 month old, how can I improove my ranckings ? A little help please

My name is Hai Vu from Washington State, US. I have been a software development engineer in test (SDE/T) since 1991, but this old dog can still learn new tricks. I am earning my keep by writing automated tests in Python.
Hey all,
I'm a product manager so don't write on our product but I do write some internal tools (automation, sales enablement etc.)
I got hooked at university (needed to control a benchtop instrument) during a Chemistry project and have been coding ever since.
I became (for better and for worse) known as the Excel VBA guy at work so I help a lot of people with a lot of internal tools.
When I can pick the tech stack, I am using Python or JavaScript (or both) and sometimes C#.
Here to learn from others and to give back in some of the areas I am stronger in.
Love playing with SVGs and with React and sometimes both :)

I was searching for CSS properties and found dev.to. I am from the design world. A couple of years ago I found ActionScript as a handy tool. Later I liked and was interested in C# (Mobile app, .Net, Unity), but now trying to understand frontend stuff and PHP for academic purpose.
I am just a newbie. Here today because I read an article about gamification, and it was really interesting.
For now I'm into the Freecodecamp, spent already hundreds of hours over there and starting to dive in Javascript.
I'm also participating to a little challenge called 100daysofcode.
And about me, I do live in France but I like to travel so I do like to spend time as often as I can in the so called neighborhood : Poland mainly, but also Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Denmark, Great-Britain, Italy, Spain... Europe is great.
My aim is also to work remotely in the future. I won't change my mind about this.
Hello All!
I'm Karim from Palestine, very happy to be part of this community, I used to work as a database developer for 4 years, then, moved to be a web developer working with PHP.
My future goal is to work with a large team at companies like Booking, so I decided to learn a new language which is Golang, I will share my learning and experience with you.
Thanks :)
Hi there, everyone!
I'm Aureliano and I thought that I wouldn't have anything interesting to say... But I've finally built up some courage and I'm ready to write something worth reading about my journey into programming.
My journey began in high school with C++, but since I've started working 8 years ago I've focused mainly on front end technologies (and I'm deeply in love with JS).
Wish me luck!
Hi, everyone. My name is Osman Zakir. I'm learning Angular from angular.io and came here to try to ask the community about a problem I came across in the Getting Started intro (basically just came here while trying to find a forum to ask in).

Hi! I'm a software engineer focused primarily in frontend technologies :) Looking to join dev.to to learn about a bunch of cool new things in the community! I'm hoping the exposure to the various members, articles, and blog posts here will help guide me to whatever my next goals may be
Hello people, just swooping by to see what kind of community and blog platform this is and how it turns out.
I felt that I needed a blog-outlet somewhere that I didnt have to build from scratch (yet again) even though it makes a good topic when streaming development it's not the most fun thing to create. Why reinvent the wheel? Hope to be able to contribute somehow.
Hello citizens of dev.to!
I am Koppany. I'm learning C# while working as a guard. I'm also battling mental problems unfortunately.
Right now I'm really into 'repairing' (speeding back up) my phone by saving/bookmarking/exporting all android chrome tabs then rooting my phone.
Hello! I am attempting to alleviate the mindless scroll of facebook from my life and after getting a subscription to medium, started wondering if there were any alternatives to it or developer communities that I didn't know about. Well.... clearly there are!
I have been programming for almost 2 years unless you count my dabbling in HTML in my teens and basic programming courses in high school (QBasic and Visual Basic, yeah I'm getting old). I started with Python on CodeCademy and then moved on to learn python the hard way and Automate the Boring Stuff. All excellent resources that I recommend for beginners. I decided that programming was for me and enrolled in Coding Dojo's online bootcamp. I had a good experience, although there were some things that I wished were different. I studied what seemed like a ton of subjects from HTML, CSS, JS, jQuery, SQL, Python, Django, Flask, C#, .NET Core console and web apps... there are some other peripheral things we learned, and it was all in 20 weeks. I've since learned that we only scratched the surface, although I wish I had gotten more depth in the category of my choosing.
I worked hard on a portfolio, but ultimately got a position developing for the platform I worked on as a Service Desk Technician, ServiceNow. There isn't as much coding as I would like, but I'm building great soft skills as a developer and coding on my own time. I work from home and while I don't want to do it forever, I mostly love my job.
Thanks if you read this far, I can be long-winded. I love to code and i'm looking forward to being in this community as I level up!
Hello there! I was searching for CSS attributes and found dev.to. I am from the design world. Apart from design topics, I am interested in C# (Mobile app, .Net, Unity). But now trying to understand frontend stuff and PHP for academic purpose.
Hello good people of dev.to !
My name is Mateo. I survive this harsh world by selling pizzas during the day and learning dev stuff by night. I can handle HTML, CSS, some javascript and some ruby. I am a newbie with no proper goal at the moment but I hope this changes in the next months.
SALUT!
I'm Jesse, I'm from a small town in rural Michigan originally but consider myself "from the internet". Still idling in the same IRC channels I've been in for over 20 years. My work has been all over the map, from embedded firmware development on custom PCB's to run of the mill full-stack development across a multitude of languages.
Could eat tacos every day. Find programming in Ruby to result in the most smiles per minute of any language I've ever worked in.
hello am a highschool graduate and i studied Math-Physics am also from the small coutry called rwanda so anyway i was never really interested in code until a TED talk which a speaker said "the youth today know how to use technologies like instagram and facebook but do not want to know how it works underneath so i made it my mission to collect that"
and i hope here i can both contribute and learn the necessary skill to do so
Hello.
I'm a CS degree holder and it has recently hit me that I'm enjoying programming more than I did when I was studying it. And now I just want to be better and make a career out of it. So I scattered around the internet and found this awesome website/community.
Currently working as Junior Front End engineer, and React JS is my stack. Looking forward to be part of this community.
Cheers,
Adam.
Lessons from a Career of Software Development….
During a career spanning more years than I’d like to admit to, I’ve been blessed to have had the opportunity to learn from a number of great mentors and the privilege to work among some truly awesome teams. Positive empowering influences, both personal and professional, I continue to be humbled by the level of support I’ve been lucky to have been the beneficiary of. My goal is to be an active contributor to this, and many other communities, sharing thoughts and suggestions about building high-performing teams.
Kevin
Hi dev.to community!
I'm Nelo, a junior frontend dev from Spain. I've always been doing frontend but now in my work i'm starting to do backend stuff, and i'm loving it.
I hope i could learn from all of you.
Hello! I've been reading dev.to for a while and decided to finally make an account. I'm a dev with experience of 10 years, mostly in the microsoft space professionally, but still love learning everything new I can to help raise my knowledge and productivity. Currently doing C# along with some python.
