Hey developers! I'm super excited to share Gitgenix, a side-project turned dev-art tool where you draw, and GitHub displays.
๐ก What is Gitgenix?
A smart GitHub contribution graph generator that lets you:
- ๐๏ธ Draw your own pattern on a canvas
- ๐ Generate .sh scripts to reflect that pattern on your contribution calendar
- ๐ Support multiple years of contributions (hello, legacy artists!)
- ๐พ Save & load designs as JSON patterns
- ๐ Share your creations via unique links
- โ๏ธ Store everything online with Firebase
- ๐จ And all of it wrapped in a beautiful UI/UX thatโs smooth, modern, and fun
๐ ๏ธ Built With:
- Next.js (App Router)
- Firebase for real-time storage
- TailwindCSS + Framer Motion for pixel-perfect UX
- A mix of custom hooks and smart time logic
๐ฏ Why I Built It?
Because... โก๏ธ I wanted to turn GitHub graphs into art โก๏ธ I love seeing utility + creativity combine โก๏ธ And letโs be honest: writing your name or drawing a smiley face in contributions? Peak dev flex.

Try it out. Make something wild. Maybe a cat? Your initials? A timeline of heartbreaks? (I donโt judge.)
๐ Open to feedback, collaborations, or just a friendly โthis is coolโ!
