Thanksgiving 2026 lands on Thursday, November 26, which gives you 26 days to print a table. That is a generous runway. It is also, I have learned, exactly enough time to say "I'll print the place cards this weekend" four weekends in a row. Let's break the streak together.
Key takeaways
- Thanksgiving 2026 is on November 26, so a print started the weekend of November 7 still leaves 19 days of slack.
- The turkey place card holder by cerberus333 on Thingiverse is described by its creator as printing at 5% infill with 2 shells and no supports, about as light on filament as a decoration gets.
- A butter mold by rkevinball_5591 on Thingiverse was made because the stores were out of turkey-shaped butter; the creator says it used almost 2 sticks of butter.
- All six picks are free to download: three from Thingiverse and three from MakerWorld.
- Thinger's Thanksgiving decorations collection has 40 trending picks if you want more than six.
Start with the seating chart
The easiest win is a place card holder, because you need one per guest and each one is small. cerberus333's Turkey Place card holder on Thingiverse does exactly that in the shape of a turkey. The creator's own notes say 5% infill, 2 shells, no support, which is the kind of print profile that lets you queue a dozen and go and do something else.
If a guest asks which turkey is theirs, that is a feature. Write names on the cards and let the turkeys be a mystery.
Napkin rings that look planned
SimplusDesign's FORMA Napkin Ring on Thingiverse is a faceted, geometric ring from their FORMA collection. It is not themed for any one holiday, which is the point: it looks deliberate on a Thanksgiving table and keeps looking fine at Christmas dinner. Print a set in one warm colour and the whole table suddenly has a theme.
The butter turkey, and why it exists
This is my favourite origin story on the list. rkevinball_5591 on Thingiverse needed turkey-shaped butter for Thanksgiving, the stores were out of it, and so the answer was a 3D printed mold, the Turkey-Butter mold. The creator built it by taking an existing turkey decoration design, putting it in a box and subtracting it to leave the mold shape. Their tip is to line the mold with plastic wrap, press in the butter and freeze it. The creator says it works, and that the one they printed took almost 2 sticks of butter, so plan your dairy accordingly.
A small note from me: this one touches food, so check how your filament and nozzle suit that before you use it, and the plastic wrap lining in the creator's method keeps the butter off the print entirely. I have not made butter turkeys myself. I have only made butter puns, and I am rationing those.
A centrepiece with a message
lindnjoe's Pumpkin Decor with Leaf/Thankful Tags on MakerWorld is a layered pumpkin with a base, two leaves and a "thankful" tag that you can hang on the pumpkin or tuck into a gift. Layered prints look good in two or three autumn colours, and the tag gives guests something to write on. It does a lot of work for one model.
Dessert that never goes stale
Fort Wayne 3D Printing's Pumpkin Pie on MakerWorld is a printable pie for "Thanksgiving coming up", per the creator. The parts print separately and are glued together, the creator suggests scaling up to 200% at 0.16 mm layer height, and version 2 adds an integrated loop so it can be a keychain or earring. It is the only pie on the table that survives being left out overnight.
Light for the end of the meal
Swee's Forest Fall Glow Apple LED Tealight Holder on MakerWorld is an apple-shaped frame wrapped in oak leaves and tiny acorns, built to hold an LED tealight. Put one at each end of the table with the lights low and you get that late-dinner glow without a single open flame near the napkin rings.
How to fit it all into a few weekends
Print the place cards first, since they are small and you need the most of them. Do the napkin rings second in a single colour. Leave the pie, the pumpkin and the tealight holders for the weekends closer to the day, when you are already hovering near the printer anyway. If you have a winter holiday to plan as well, the winter holidays collection is the next stop.
All of these are free to download, and the free Thinger app lets you search over 600,000 free models across every major platform if you want a different turkey. There are a lot of turkeys out there. I checked.
