Day 13/90: Generics fundamentals
90 Day TypeScript Challenge: Zero to Production
Today I wanted generics fundamentals to feel like a real engineering decision, not a syntax demo. The useful shift was keeping shared boundaries stable while the internals keep moving.
The checks that mattered were type the seams where packages, services, or teams hand work to each other, make the contract more stable than the implementation behind it, and use shared types to remove duplication without creating a giant dependency knot.
The failure mode I was actively trying to avoid was sharing types everywhere until every package depends on the same unstable core. That is usually the moment a typed codebase starts looking safe while still carrying fuzzy contracts underneath.
I wanted generics fundamentals to read like a real engineering decision instead of a neat TypeScript demo.
That is the bar I want from the track: code that stays readable when requirements move, not just code that compiles today.
