I don't see much of a difference between macOS and Arch or Ubuntu, when it comes to configuring the system and installing all the tools, so that I am able to use it in a productive way. macOS might come with more stuff, but out-of-the-box it still lacks a package manager.
Sure, not all the customisable buttons of your fancy mouse work out-of-the-box on Linux, but which "serious professional developer" uses a fancy mouse anyway?
