Meet Auric Trade Collective!

Auric Trade Collective didn’t begin as a software company. It started as a small reselling business focused on precious metals, gold and silver. The name Auric comes from gold, and in the beginning that made sense. We wanted to build something tangible, stable, and owned by the people actually doing the work. That idea of ownership, real ownership...mattered more to us than scale.

Over time, we realized what we were truly interested in wasn’t just trade. It was autonomy. Worker ownership. Creative control. The ability to build systems without asking permission from gatekeepers or structuring everything around someone else’s platform. That realization slowly shifted ATC from physical trade into software.

Today, Auric Trade Collective is a worker-owned software cooperative. We’re building tools and digital environments that prioritize minimalism, clarity, and long term thinking over trend cycles. We’re still small, but we want to grow in a way that feels aligned with our values rather than rushed.

Right now, we’re working on two main projects. One is Nox, a minimalistic webserver written in Go. It’s focused on performance and simplicity, no bloated frameworks, no unnecessary abstraction. Just clean, understandable infrastructure that does what it’s supposed to do.

The other is Nexus, a long term vision for a VR metaverse framework, not in the corporate, marketing sense, but as a modular ecosystem made up of smaller, interconnected projects. One of those is The Grid, a chat application designed to function both inside VR and in real life. The idea is simple: presence without friction.

Some parts of Nexus are currently paused because of hardware limitations and ownership policies within Meta’s VR development ecosystem. Rather than build inside systems that limit creative control, we’re choosing to wait until we can work with non-Meta VR equipment that better reflects our values. We would rather build slower than build compromised.

ATC right now is six people: myself, my husband, and four close friends who decided to try building something collectively owned instead of individually exploited. We come from different backgrounds like retail, tech, operations, engineering but we share one belief: the people who build the systems should own the systems.

We don’t have much to offer yet. We’re early. We don’t have funding rounds or flashy perks. What we do have is intention, direction, and the willingness to build carefully. And the truth is, we can’t build this alone.

We’re looking for developers who care about long-term architecture, autonomy, and substance over hype. People who are comfortable in early stage environments and who don’t mind helping shape foundations instead of polishing something already finished.

Auric Trade Collective is still in its early chapters. If what we’re building resonates with you or if you simply want to help shape something from the ground up... we’d genuinely love to connect.
