My project folders are a mix of Markdown notes, Word specs, Excel sheets, slides and PDFs. Reading one folder meant jumping between a Markdown editor, Word, Excel and a PDF viewer. So I built EasyView_Md: open a folder as a workspace, and everything opens in tabs in one window.
What it does
- WYSIWYG Markdown editing with a source toggle; files stay plain Markdown. Tables with merged cells and sorting; Mermaid, math and code highlighting render locally.
- Edit and save .docx and .xlsx in place; preview PPT, PDF, images and archives.
- Export to HTML, PDF and DOCX, plus a built-in terminal and a simple Git panel.
- Optional AI chat beside the document (bring your own OpenAI-compatible key). Agent mode edits files directly and highlights what changed.
Where it runs
macOS (Apple Silicon), Windows x64, and as a VS Code / Cursor extension. MIT licensed, free, no account needed.
I'd love feedback, especially real-world .docx/.xlsx files that don't render or save correctly.
