The Security Researcher's Nightmare Just Became Real

Anthropic announced Project Glasswing yesterday alongside AWS, Apple, Google, Microsoft, and NVIDIA—their unreleased Claude Mythos Preview model autonomously discovered thousands of high-severity vulnerabilities, including decades-old zero-days in every major OS and browser. The model scored 83.1% on CyberGym versus 66.6% for the previous best. Anthropic is throwing $100 million in usage credits and $4 million in open-source security donations at the problem.

My immediate reaction: this is both incredibly valuable and deeply unsettling. We've crossed a threshold where AI can systematically find vulnerabilities faster than humans can patch them—and that asymmetry is about to get much worse.
