Top 3 Telegram MCP servers for multi-account research and reviewed actions

Disclosure: this article was prepared with the Teleloom author's involvement and AI assistance. It compares documentation and selected source paths checked on October 7, 2026. No joint performance benchmark or live Telegram comparison was run.

Teleloom: Telegram tools for agents

A useful Telegram integration lets an agent find a decision in a chat, cite the messages behind it, and prepare a reply from the right account. Those tasks call for more than a long tool list. You need to know which account the agent uses, what it read, and which action you approved.

This shortlist puts Teleloom first for one combination: named user and bot profiles, research backed by preserved messages, and a separate review step before sending. The order reflects those priorities. It is an editorial choice based on inspected contracts, rather than a measured overall winner.

1. Teleloom: profiles, preserved evidence and reviewed delivery

Teleloom combines an MCP server, a CLI, and six portable skills for connecting, reading, inbox review, digests, sending, and broadcasts. One local owner process manages connections and state for named user accounts and bots. Multiple agent clients can share it. Project documentation.

For research, you choose chats, a time range, and a collection budget. Teleloom preserves collected originals and supplies evidence references with coverage information. An agent can revisit the collected version behind a digest even after a Telegram message changes. Collection across several requests is still not an atomic snapshot of Telegram. Frozen result implementation.

For sending, Teleloom creates a preview with the account, recipients, exact content and reply target. Execution requires confirmation and the matching plan hash. An uncertain delivery remains unknown; the server does not resend it as a recovery action. The client supplies the confirmation flag, so this is a contract within a trusted local setup, not independent proof of human approval. Delivery implementation, trust model.

Documents, optional PDF/OCR extraction and transcription provide more material for an agent to inspect. Transcription routes include a configured local engine, Telegram, OpenAI-compatible endpoints and Groq. External audio uploads need their own permission and budgets. Attachment setup.

Optional Jev support covers message classification and task-based field selection. Classification labels relevance, urgency, topic and actionability. Field selection receives the bounded task and static field descriptions, without reading or forwarding retrieved messages. Smaller projected responses can reduce the data passed to an agent; this article makes no measured speed or token-saving claim. You can also select fields and compact views without Jev. Classification contract, field selection.

For that workflow, Teleloom is the first choice in this shortlist. Setup takes work: Python 3.12–3.14, credentials and a functioning credential store. New profiles can read all account-accessible chats unless you configure selected-chat access. Bot API history consists of collected observations. Your chosen agent/model provider receives the evidence you request. Getting started.

2. chigwell/telegram-mcp: broad Telegram operations

chigwell/telegram-mcp documents named accounts, search and history, contacts, media, admin operations, skills and access controls. It also offers several transcription routes. Consider it when broad Telegram operations matter more to you than the research workflow above. Checked documentation.

Its inspected send_message path checks chat access and sends without a separate plan-hash argument. A host client can impose approval, and the project includes draft-without-sending guidance. This observation applies to that source path. Send implementation, workflow documentation.

3. mcp-telegram: a Node.js installation path

mcp-telegram/mcp-telegram offers QR login, npx, binaries and Docker. Its documentation covers search, media, Telegram Premium transcription and multiple accounts through distinct session paths and MCP registrations. This can fit readers who already use Node.js. Checked documentation.

The inspected telegram-send-message path has no preview-plan hash argument; a client may supply approval through its own rules. The project also offers hosted deployment, which has different credential and data-handling implications from a local installation. Send implementation.

A first task to try

After connecting a Teleloom client, try:

Show profiles and let me choose one chat. Read the latest 20 messages without marking them as read. Summarize decisions and open questions, link the source messages, and report missing context. Send nothing.

This is a suggested task, not a claimed test result. OpenCode 2 and Hermes native registration through config client --install is available in the current source checkout; v0.5.0 only prints config fragments. Tool discovery does not establish digest accuracy or complete model workflows. Verification limits.

Teleloom's planned browser workspace, shared proxy catalog, custom emoji collections and expanded VPS/SSH workflows are roadmap work. Treat them as plans when choosing a server today.
