I Built a Java Microlearning App β€” Would You Use It?

Hey Devs! πŸ‘‹

A few months ago I started working on Coro β€” a microlearning app for backend developers who want to keep growing their Java skills without needing two free hours or a full textbook session.

The idea: bring bite-sized, structured learning to experienced devs, inspired by tools like Duolingo but focused entirely on real technical growth.

πŸ’‘ Why We Built It
Most developer learning tools are:

  • Too shallow (beginner-focused),
  • Too long (600+ pages),
  • Just not built for busy people who already work full-time in code.

We wanted to see if microlearning could work for intermediate and advanced Java devs, especially for people who want to sharpen skills, not just start from scratch.

πŸ” What Coro Does
Coro is still super minimal β€” but here’s what’s live now:
βœ… Two learning modes (learning and practice mode)
βœ… Progress tracking
βœ… Based on real sources

Our first full course is a distilled version of Thinking in Java by Bruce Eckel

🧠 What Should We Build Next?
We’re already working on new course tracks based on:

  • Clean Code
  • Design Patterns

But we’d love your input as we build:

  • Would you actually use something like this long-term?
  • What Java books, topics, or tools should we cover next?
  • What features would make Coro truly valuable for you?

We're building this in public and shaping it with dev feedback
Thanks for being part of the journey! πŸ™Œ
