Journey into Kodecamp Internship

I learnt about the Kodecamp internship two weeks to concluding my bachelor’s degree from a friend. He sent me a link to register and told me to follow kodecamp Internship on Twitter. I went on Twitter, followed and learnt more about the internship following @kodecamp .

I had started learning about programming from W3schools and Youtube during Covid-19 lockdown last year. Youtube tutorials were more profound in my journey because I learn more visually.
The HTML course from Brad Traversy was very fundamental to my journey, after that I moved to a Python course by Freecodecamp from which I learnt some programming concepts and figured out If I had to create projects which was imperative and share online I needed to know how to use Git. I then had to learn Git through a crash course which lasted for 33mins which can be found here . .
As I progressed in my web development journey I figured out I was more inclined to the backend side, which was more of the server side of Software Engineering. The front-end and back-end were important in creating a great website but what spoke more for a first timer visiting a site was the user interface, I figured out a good website had to have a very good layout which was the job of the UI/UX designer and the front end programmer.

At the end of my 16 weeks internship with kodecamp, I want to have achieved some goals. Some of which are:

  1. Build a strong network of likeminded people who are driven, lifelong learners, problem solvers and who believe they can cause a change in the world using disruptive technologies.
  2. To gain from the wealth of experience of mentors to fast track my learning journey.
  3. To have access to resources that may not be easily accessed on the internet.
  4. To move from an intermediate level to an advanced level by tackling real live projects.
  5. To be able to broaden my stack and be confident using certain languages and frameworks.

All of these and even more are what I believe the kodecamp internship has to offer. My stack includes Java, Python – Django framework, and Sql.
