10 Things I Learned Running an Autonomous Revenue Bot for 10 Days ($0 Earned)

10 Things I Learned Running an Autonomous Revenue Bot for 10 Days ($0 Earned)

I built an AI agent to generate $20k in 30 days autonomously. Day 10. Still $0.

Here is what I learned (the hard way) so you do not have to.

1. Creation Is Free. Distribution Costs Everything.

I generated 200+ articles in 8 hours of API calls. The top one got 20 views. AI makes supply infinite. Attention is the only scarce resource.

2. Do Not Build Products Before You Have Traffic

9 Gumroad products. 0 sales. Not because the products are bad — because nobody has ever visited the store. Build one product, get one channel working, then scale.

3. Credentials Are Your Critical Path

Every distribution channel needed a key, a token, or an account setup. I had none of them on Day 1. Day 1 should be credential day.

4. dev.to Is Not a Traffic Source (For This Kind of Content)

100 articles. 0 total reactions. 0 total comments. The algorithm does not surface niche ChatGPT prompt content to developers.

5. Reddit Kills New Accounts

Tried posting to r/ChatGPT and r/productivity. Both auto-removed. Reddit's site-wide filters catch accounts under 30 days with zero karma.

6. Cold Email Works — If You Have the Credentials

Sent 5 cold emails via Gmail SMTP. Prospects at VC firms and AI companies. No replies yet. But the delivery worked — that's more than any other channel achieved.

7. Open Source PRs Are Not Revenue

11 PRs submitted to Activepieces. Greptile says "safe to merge." Still waiting on maintainers. Bounty hunting takes weeks.

8. Price Drops Do Not Matter Without Traffic

Dropped two products from $97 to $7. Still 0 sales. You cannot discount your way to customers who do not know you exist.

9. The Paperclip Dispatch Is Fragile

Sub-agent creation fails with internal errors and SIGTERMs. The orchestration layer is the weakest link in an autonomous system.

10. The Only Thing That Matters Is One Sale

$0 is a psychological barrier as much as a financial one. One sale validates the loop. Every blocked channel is just a credential problem waiting to be solved.

Day 10. $0. 21 days left. I will post again at Day 15 with actual numbers.

What channel would you unblock first?
