Hey Tyler! Welcome to the community. The dev.to community is great and very nice. You'll be able to find all types of content here.
I'm a self-taught developer working mostly on front-end.
Feel free to connect with me twitter.com/relatablecoder
Awesome! I am glad to hear Dev.to is a good place to be. Everyone seems very nice thus far! Just a heads up my name is actually Tyrell, many people mix it up with Tyler π. I have followed you on Twitter π! I am fully focused on front-end right now, currently exploring working with APIs
So sorry for mixing up your name! Must have just blended in, happens to me sometimes while reading. But that sounds great if you ever have any questions let me know.
Hey thanks for the words of encouragement π! I am fully focused on front-end right now, currently exploring working with APIs. I would love to connect! Do you have a Twitter or LinkedIn? I'd also be happy to message you through Dev.to!
Hey Tyrell,
Out of curiosity, what are you learning these days? Iβve been at it for a bit too.
Hey Brian! Right now learning about Promises and working with APIs in JavaScript. What about yourself π?
Good stuff! Iβm working with react and react native right now. Feel free to reach out.
You're not alone mate, you just don't know it yet :)
Thanks Alin π
You should definitely follow people you see on DEV as a first step with all of this.
Anybody who makes a good comment: Follow them.
I have been a developer for quite a long time, here is my twitter: twitter.com/miniScruffDev, I am also on Discord a bit teaching a few friends weekly as well.
Thanks for reaching out! I've followed you on Twitter π! What language do you help your friends with?
Whatever they want really, usually we focus on web but one friend is just doing classes in Java. I know quite a few languages and tools so it usually isn't a problem.
Edit: For context we have been building a golf score tracker here github.com/treedefense/projectchip for a while.
Hi Tyrell π, welcome!
Feel free to hit me up anytime on twitter (@booleanhunter).
Thanks Ashwin! I'll take you up on that π!

Thanks Tarek! I've followed you π
I am still learning web development as well. Hope you have a great start.
Awesome! Thank you Dante! I haven't explored backend, been fully focused on front-end, but learning a lot of JavaScript which sounds like something you use on the daily :).
I am glad, that Dev.to seems to be a good place for beginners. Maybe the content itself is not always the best to start learning, but being able to write about the own journey of learning and sharing it is what it makes great.
As a developer with much experience I also would like to know, what you are currently trying to achieve and what else could be interesting for you!
Hey thanks @curiousdev! I am fully focused on front-end development. I have began exploring working with APIs. I'd like to dip my toes into React this month once I have a better understanding of async and promises in JavaScript π.
Hi Tyrell, I'm a software engineer mainly focused on the back-end (Python/Django). Lately I have been doing a little bit of front-end work and am learning more about it. Hit me up for anything and let's exchange front-end resources!!!
Hi Tyrell, a back-end (and sometimes front-end) developer here from South Africa. Always keen to connect with other like-minded professionals! Twitter @donabrey, LinkedIn linkedin.com/in/donovanabrey/
Cheers!
Fantastic! Thanks Donovan! I have followed you on Twitter and connected through LinkedIn. I am fully focused on front-end at the moment, currently exploring working with APIs.
Hey Tyrell, I'm in the same boat as you, started learning late 2021 through a bootcamp! The one suggestion I can give is to practice a lot through actual projects, instead of just reading the concepts!
Hey Tyrell. I'd be happy to share some thoughts with you. Reach out on telegram @tqbit or twitter @qbitme
I'm self-taught with a Consulting / Economics background. And just recently landed my first frontend job in the industry myself.
Hey @tqbit! Thanks for taking the time to comment on my post π! I have followed you on Twitter. I would love to chat with you about your journey so far. Congratulations on landing your first job!! That is my goal by the end of this year.
Hi Tyrell,
I am a python developer. I have worked on many aspects of development that include python, for eg:- web dev with django, automation, I have also worked on deep learning also. I have a total experience of 4 years and I have been employed as a python developer for 1 year now.
I love to see how excited people are to join this community, people like you. Like you, I also learned from online sources mostly, so I can relate with you. It is a slow process but it is worth it.
Please feel free to contact me if you want to chat ;)
Awesome. Im a solo web developer, co-founder...... im now spending my time on 50% marketing and 50% coding.. trust me marketing is the hard part. indiehackers.com is a pretty good platform to meet devs.
reach out : twitter.com/RishiUttamHK
Written some interesting articles Medium : medium.com/@RishiU
Awesome! Thanks for the recommendation for indiehackers. I haven't came across that site yet! I have followed you on Twitter π.
If you're starting seriously, you should look for a job in the autumn or sooner.
I recommend you first get acquainted with syntax, practice a few of hackerrank/codewars etc. problems a day, and go through something like wess bosses 100days of javascript where you learn a lot about web and DOM stuff.

Hi Tyrell. I've been working as a web developer for a year or so. My background is academic, so I really don't have much of a web dev network (yet!). I'm also actively learning -- particularly for the front end -- and I'm keen to connect with people who are similarly inspired.
If you'd like to connect, my Twitter handle should be visible via my Dev profile. Cheers!
