One shift's profit number means little on its own. A driver who only remembers the good days will keep taking the same bad ones.
The useful habit is a weekly review: add up each shift's net profit for the week — pay minus fuel, tolls, parking, food, and other work costs — then look at the pattern. Which day of the week actually paid best after costs? Which shift type kept losing money once waiting time was counted? Which costs kept repeating?
A week of honest numbers answers questions a single good day cannot: whether evenings beat mornings for you, whether short trips beat long ones, whether a 'busy' week was actually profitable.
You do not need a spreadsheet or a paid tool for this — just the same numbers, written down every shift, reviewed once a week.
