What is SyncBoard Pro?
SyncBoard Pro is a production-grade, multi-tenant Agile project management platform, combining Scrum and Kanban workflows into a single workspace. It's built to feel like a real SaaS product — something teams could actually adopt — rather than another portfolio-style CRUD app.
Core Features
- Scrum + Kanban in one workspace — manage backlogs, plan sprints, assign user stories, and move tasks across customizable boards.
-
Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) — separate permissions for
owner, manager, andemployeeroles, each with a different dashboard experience. -
True multi-tenancy — every company's workspace data is completely isolated, while a
superadminrole manages the platform globally. - Showcase demo security — a custom middleware blocks all write/delete operations from the public demo account, so public demos stay safe without limiting real admin functionality.
-
Polished UI details — shimmer loading skeletons, responsive layouts, a custom toast notification system (replacing native
window.alert), and smooth client-side routing with a Vercel SPA rewrite fix.
Tech Stack
Frontend: React 18, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Redux Toolkit, Axios
Backend: Node.js, Express.js, Mongoose (MongoDB), JWT Auth, Cloudinary, Nodemailer
The Architecture Challenge
The most interesting part of building this was the multi-tenant isolation layer. Every model is partitioned by companyId, ensuring users from one company can never access another company's data — while still allowing a superadmin to operate across all tenants for platform-level management.
What's Next?
This is just the core. The roadmap includes:
- Real-time team chat using Socket.io
- AI-powered task breakdown — automatically splitting user stories into subtasks
- A global dark mode toggle

Would love feedback from the community — especially on the multi-tenant architecture decisions or the RBAC implementation. Let me know what you'd approach differently!
