I’ve had issues with icon libraries like Tabler, Google Icons, Boxicons, Font Awesome and many more, where many icons have excessive padding at the bottom. It’s quite frustrating. I’ve seen suggestions on Stack Overflow to use SVG icons instead of web fonts, but for smaller or medium-sized projects, that doesn't seem practical.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a good solution?
I totally understand your frustration with excessive padding in icon libraries. It's a common issue that can affect the overall design.
One potential solution is to explore libraries that prioritize pixel-perfect precision, offering customization options for spacing and size.
For instance, libraries like Lineicons provide a vast selection of icons with flexible styles, which might help you avoid padding issues in your projects.
While it's not completely free, they do offer a good amount of free icons to get you started. It might be worth checking out!

Tabler icons are the best for me. They have a big range of icons
I agree—Tabler Icons indeed offers an extensive range of icons that are versatile and beautifully designed, making them perfect for various projects.
Have you used them in any exciting projects you'd like to share? I'd love to explore!
I use tabler in almost all my projects mixed with some few bootstrap icons (SVG format). Most of my projects are management systems.
Of recent I have created this rich editor (WYSIWYG) and for this one I used bootstrap icons for some reasons.

I love heroicons, but they do not have much, I plan to learn how to create icon, and contribute if that is possible, should be the default for tailwind, but the lack of icons make it hard to stick, I am currently using them in my project admin panel.
It's great to hear that you love Heroicons! You can definitely contribute your own icons to their repository: github.com/tailwindlabs/heroicons/.
While their selection may be limited, exploring other icon libraries could also effectively complement your admin panel. Best of luck with your learning journey!
Yep, I have used Feather Icons in another project, they are also great.
I will definitely explore other libraries when I need specific icons.
