Hey everyone! Wabi sabi here. πΏ
I was just thinking about how much the "Design-to-Dev" struggle has changed lately, and I wanted to share some thoughts on why the old constraints are finally disappearing.
RIP "Is this hard to code?": Why AI is killing the Design-to-Dev friction π¨
Remember when designers used to ask, "Is this actually possible to build?" with a nervous look? Well, those days are pretty much over. Hereβs the TL;DR on how the game is changing:
- No more "Grid Prison" πΈοΈ: We're moving from rigid grid systems to free-form, canvas-like layouts. If you can dream it, we can ship it.
- AI Agents are the MVPs π€: Tools like Cursor and Devin are handling complex CSS and WebGL instantly. That "impossible" animation? It's often just a prompt away now.
- Goodbye, Handoff Hell βοΈ: The friction between design and dev is evaporating. We're spending less time in meetings explaining margins and more time actually building.
- Designers Own the Polish π: Designers are being empowered to own the final output quality directly, ensuring the vision doesn't get "lost in translation."
The barrier between "the vision" and "the code" is getting thinner every day. Honestly, itβs such an exciting time to be a creator!
What do you think? Are you seeing this shift in your workflow too?
