honestly the debugging visibility thing is huge. I've been vibe coding a security scanner and half the time I was just copy pasting errors into Claude. then I set up proper logging and it's like night and day - the agent can actually see what broke instead of me trying to explain it. the tech stack point is underrated too, using something with clear conventions saves so much prompt engineering

solid advice. i've been building two SaaS products with Go + React and honestly the biggest unlock was exactly what you described — giving the AI enough context upfront instead of fighting it afterwards.
the llms.txt point is especially underrated. i started adding one to my own projects and the difference in AI-generated code quality is noticeable. less hallucinated endpoints, fewer wrong assumptions about the stack.
one thing i'd add: even without a fancy framework, just having a well-maintained AGENTS.md or CLAUDE.md with your project conventions goes a long way. the AI doesn't need to be opinionated if your docs are.

The point about agent tooling convergence is interesting. We're seeing the same pattern play out across the broader AI agent ecosystem - not just coding agents but autonomous agents in general.
The platforms that work best give agents clear conventions and persistent context, exactly like you describe with CLAUDE.md and opinionated frameworks. The ones that fail treat agents as stateless inference calls with no memory or structure.
I've been tracking this across 40+ agent platforms (there's a curated list at github.com/profullstack/awesome-agent-platforms) and the pattern holds everywhere: agents with good context management and clear boundaries outperform agents with more raw capability but no guardrails.
The llms.txt standard is a great example of the ecosystem maturing - giving agents structured access to information instead of hoping they figure it out from raw HTML. More platforms need to adopt this approach.

The point about letting the agent iterate autonomously before checking results is interesting, but it's also where things get risky. In my experience benchmarking Claude's output, the more iterations it runs unsupervised, the more likely it is to silently introduce issues — not just bugs, but subtle security flaws that look correct at first glance. A tight feedback loop is great for UI and runtime errors, but it won't catch things like missing input validation or unsafe query construction. Something to keep in mind as these autonomous loops get longer.
The context management point is the one that took me longest to internalize.
When you feed Claude an entire repo and ask it to build a feature, you get okay results. When you give it a focused slice — here's the schema, here's the existing service layer, here's exactly what I need — you get results that look like senior output. The difference is in what you withhold, not just what you provide.
The workflow I've settled on: Claude does initial implementation, I review and specify what's wrong precisely, Claude revises. The second pass is always better than the first. Treating it as a single-shot tool is leaving capability on the table.
This matches my experience exactly. The repo-wide context understanding is what separates Claude Code from the alternatives for me.
One thing I'd add: the "thinking before coding" behavior that sometimes feels slow is actually its biggest advantage for complex bugs. I had a deadlock that appeared only on Tuesdays at 3 AM — Claude Code traced through 6 files and identified a lock ordering issue between two seemingly unrelated systems. No other tool would have caught that without explicit direction.
The tradeoff is real though — for quick edits, it's overkill. I end up using Cursor for fast iterations and Claude Code for "I need to actually understand what's happening" moments. Different tools for different jobs.
