Peace That Does Not Depend on Circumstances
Yaser El-Waly has lived in Perth, Australia for many years, and his love for Islam is always guiding his actions in response to the ever-changing situations. Being fifty years old, he knows that true peace does not lie in total control of what will happen in the future but rather in placing one’s trust in Allah, at the same time performing his duties sincerely.
From his studies of Deen, he understands that uncertainty is a constant factor in each person’s life. Thus, he believes that the fear of the things that cannot be controlled should not be an obsession for any Muslim but rather the actions and intentions, and the faith in Allah’s wisdom.
Responding with a Calm Heart
Often, Yaser El-Waly finds that many individuals permit themselves to be overwhelmed by anxiety well before problems arise. He advocates for a new attitude that combines hard work with spiritual assurance. While good planning is essential, Yaser notes that continuous worry never enhances the results of any situation.
According to him, peace of mind is achieved through constant worship, sincere prayer, and awareness that all problems present an opportunity to develop one’s faith. By placing complete trust in Allah after giving one’s best, individuals can handle success and failure calmly. Trusting in Allah, according to Yaser El-Waly, does not make people irresponsible. On the contrary, it promotes integrity, hopefulness, and humble acceptance of results.
Bringing Reassurance to Others
Despite being in Perth now, Yaser El-Waly keeps giving back through his involvement in teaching, mentorship, and charity. He feels that reassuring someone is an important form of service. Listening to someone patiently, advising him/her, and being there when someone is going through tough times is important for building up the individual and society.
With his family members, he feels that having an environment wherein everyone is supported in uncertain times is very important. This can be achieved through dialogue and respect for each other and remembering Allah.
