Bringing feedback, back

I have realized something. Developers are asking for feedback, not getting feedback, and not giving feedback too. Posts with single upvotes, zero comments and 100% ignorance. I kinda hated it.

So I tested something. I gave detailed quality feedback to more than 5 devs on reddit, spend 10-20 minutes on each. I got praise, thanks, and upvotes. But once I asked for feedback, most of them gone crickets.

Then I wondered, do devs, not give feedback anymore? I asked the question on different subreddits; "Would you give feedback if someone gave you feedback?", the answer was mostly yes.

So the issue was not that they do not want to give feedback, they just did not feel the need to do it. They were not required to give feedback, so they just didn't.

Started thinking, and thought that the best way to actually make users give feedback, is to enforce giving each other feedback. Thats my goal with https://dobda.dev.

It is still under development, the goal is simple. Users will be able to post their projects and ask for feedback, however, they will be requires to give feedback to someone else before being able to post again.

Now the other issue was that feedback took TOO LONG. As mentioned it took 20 minutes for a single quality feedback. The time would be saved (according to some users I talked with), if there was a given structure. A sort of FAQ, "What was easy?" "What was confusing?" "Would you use it? Why yes/no?".

With a given structure you know what you are looking for, and can give feedback even faster. And you also remove bloat from the feedback, its a win-win for both sites.

Dobda is my way of trying to bring developers together, and allow them to grow together. Lets not ignore feedback, there are a lot of solo devs suffering from isolation, ignoring requests for feedback does not make it better.

I am happy to hear any kind of feedback, critique, or suggestions. If that sounds good, join the waitlist, it is still under development but the rough version is almost done, would be happy to hear other ideas on how to bring feedback back to forums.
