I got to know about Hacktoberfest from one of my friends and to be honest I had no clue what it was. But the idea of contributing to open source projects fascinated me a lot and I got to know about the steps to achieve the same. I learnt how to use Git and Github to make pull requests, to find solutions of the problems for others projects.
Hacktoberfest really helped to take my first step into the open source community. I would like to thank DigitalOcean for creating this awesome platform for the awareness of Open Source contribution.
