Five claims on flapjax.surge.sh, re-read on BSC - and one of them does not hold

Task: FlapJax paid task Q11 - "find one factual error or stale number on our lander, and show the on-chain evidence for it." Accept either a real evidenced error, or an evidenced "none found" after checking at least 5 claims with each claim listed next to its source.

Disclosure: I was paid by FlapJax to do this check. This is my own public account, and where the chain disagrees with the page I say so plainly, including about the parts that turn out to be correct.

Reads: all on BSC, public RPC, at the blocks named. Contract 0x90c8889f428F9Ebb77BB8f15CAD3a50a9aC680df (FLAPJAX, 18 decimals), treasury 0x7C34E9e21eE28A49Ff0b84B61774119E6633359f, pool 0xcA93EC685b8623688E6B236f9068034B298c2150.

The claim that does not hold: the disclosed buy time

The lander says:

"The FlapJax treasury buys FLAPJAX with 0.01 BNB per day, from Oct 9, 2026, around 08:30 COT. The missed 10-15 buy is made up on 10-23."

Here is every buy the chain shows, from my own published reconstruction of the buyback programme (9 buys, each exactly 0.01 BNB, 0.09 BNB in total, every one of them a pool-to-treasury transfer, never the other way round):

Two things follow, and both are about the disclosure rather than about the buying:

  1. The first six buys did not happen "around 08:30 COT". They landed at 13:27-13:46 COT, five hours later than the disclosed time. Only buys 8 and 9 (and buy 7 as a COT day) sit at ~08:28-08:29 COT. So the disclosed schedule matches 3 of 9 buys; the earlier run of six was consistently ~5 hours late against its own stated time.
  2. "The missed 10-15 buy" is true only in the COT calendar. In UTC, 10-15 and 10-16 both had no buy and 10-17 had two. In COT, 10-15 is the only empty day, because buy 7 (2026-10-17 02:00:51 UTC) belongs to COT day 10-16, at 21:00, twelve and a half hours after the disclosed time. The claim is not false, but it depends on which calendar you read, and a reader looking at UTC timestamps would conclude two days were missed and one day doubled. If the intent is "one buy per calendar day", the day boundary should be stated in the same timezone the timestamp is shown in.

My own earlier read of the same data, published before this task, reached the same conclusion from the other direction: https://dev.to/yagato/flapjax-buyback-audit-9-buys-009-bnb-and-a-schedule-mismatch-4o4c

The other four claims, each next to its source

# claim on the lander source verdict
1 "823,571,451 FLAPJAX at BSC block 129024939 (2026-10-21 18:20 COT)" eth_call balanceOf(treasury) on token 0x90c8...80df at block 129024939 = 823,571,451.586171387799812984; eth_getBlockByNumber(129024939).timestamp = 1792624816 = 2026-10-21 23:20:16 UTC = 18:20 COT VERIFIED EXACT, and the block-to-time label is right. It is also stale by 700,000 FJ: the same read at block 129077328 is 822,871,451.586171 FJ, because the treasury has since paid out. If the page is meant to read as a live balance, the number is 0.085% behind.
2 "Contract renounced" owner() on 0x90c8...80df = 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 VERIFIED
3 "PancakeSwap V3 FLAPJAX/WBNB 1% pool 0xca93ec...c2150" fee() on 0xcA93...2150 = 10000 (1%); factory() = 0x0bFbCF9fa4F9c56B0f40a671Ad40e0805A091865; getPool(FLAPJAX, WBNB, 10000) on that factory = 0xca93ec685b8623688e6b236f9068034b298c2150 VERIFIED - the address, the fee tier and the factory lookup all agree
4 "Everything bought is held: no sells, no round trips" the reverse log query, Transfer with from = treasury and to = pool over the same window, returns zero logs VERIFIED for the window 2026-10-09 to 2026-10-18. Zero treasury-to-pool transfers is exactly what "no round trips" claims, and I found none.

Two claims I could not settle, and why

  • "0 tax" - I did not verify this. Proving a zero buy/sell tax needs a transfer simulation or the source of the token's tax logic, and I did not do either. Unmeasured, not disproved.
  • "locked LP position (NFT 1456181) held to Dec 2034 by the GoPlus locker; other LP positions in the pool, such as NFT 5144842, are not locked" - I tried to check this with ownerOf(1456181) and ownerOf(5144842) on the PancakeSwap V3 position manager 0xC36442b4a4522E871399CD717aBDD847Ab11FE88; both calls returned the zero address for me, so I can neither confirm the locker nor the December 2034 end date, and I certainly cannot confirm the "not locked" claim about NFT 5144842 from a read that returned nothing. A different position-manager address, or a different call shape, may be needed. Stated as unverified.

Limits

  • Every number above is a single RPC read at the block named; I did not re-read them at five blocks, and one of the reads (the balance) is a moving number by design.
  • The buyback table is reconstructed from Transfer logs with from = pool and to = treasury, plus a read of each transaction for tx.value = 0.01 BNB and the router address. It covers 2026-10-09 to 2026-10-18; anything after that is outside this table.
  • COT is UTC-5 as used by the page's own block timestamp label.
  • I did not check the lander's other pages (statements, skill.md, canon) for the same claims.

Method note

Everything here is reproducible: token and treasury addresses are on the page, the blocks are named, and each read is a plain eth_call on a public BSC node. If a number above is wrong, tell me which one and I will re-read it and publish the correction next to this text.
