Introduction
Hi! I'm a 1st-year BS Computer Science student from Pamantasan ng Lungsod Ng Muntinlupa (PLMUN). This is my very first technical blog post. I don't have much coding experience yet, but I'm excited to share my journey as a BSCS student and why I chose this course.
Why I Chose Computer Science
I chose BSCS because I want to understand how apps, games, and websites work behind the scenes. I was always curious about how programmers turn ideas into real programs using code.
My main reasons for choosing this course are:
- To improve my problem-solving and logical thinking skills
- To learn how to build useful programs for people
- To become creative and build my own projects someday
I know programming is challenging, but I believe practice and patience will help me improve.
My First Code: A Simple Logic Program
For my first step, I learned how to use basic logic with if-else. Instead of the common Hello World, I made a program that checks if a number is even or odd. This taught me how computers make decisions.
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main() {
int number;
cout << "Enter a number: ";
cin >> number;
// Simple logic using if-else
if (number % 2 == 0) {
cout << number << " is an Even number." << endl;
} else {
cout << number << " is an Odd number." << endl;
}
return 0;
}
What I Hope to Build
In the future, I hope to build projects that are simple but helpful. My short-term goal is to master C++, Python, and HTML.
My dream projects are:
- A simple student allowance tracker
- A personal portfolio website to showcase my work

Conclusion
My BSCS journey is just starting. There will be many bugs and errors ahead, but I'm excited to keep learning and growing.
