Artificial Intelligence !!! AI !!! When most people hear the word artificial intelligence, the first thing they usually think of is robots. That's because big-budget films and novels weave stories about human-like machines that wreak havoc on Earth and taking over mankind. But the truth is nothing as such can be achieved in near future. So lets understand what actually AI signifies.
Artificial Intelligence(AI) is the study in engineering of making intelligent machines, machines which can collect large amount of data and give conclusions like a human brain thereby reducing human effort. Machines solve problems by observing other people or just by observing our own algorithms. On the other hand, most work in AI involves studying the problems the world presents to machine based upon data rather than studying people or animals. AI researchers on other hand are free to use methods that are not observed in people or that involve much more computing than people can do.
Algorithms often play an important role in structuring artificial intelligence, here simple algorithms are used in development of simple applications, while more complex ones help frame strong artificial intelligence.
Ever wondered where it all started? The English mathematician Alan Turing was the first who presented his thoughts regarding AI. He gave a lecture on it in 1947. He also have been the first to decide that AI was best researched by programming computers rather than by building any machines. By the late 1950s, there were many researchers on AI, and most of them made the foundations of their work on programming computers.
AI aims at human-level intelligence. The ultimate efforts are to make computer programs that can solve problems and achieve goals in the world faster and with better accuracy. AI is continuously evolving to benefit many industries towards efficient results. Machines are wired using a cross-disciplinary approach based on mathematics, computer science, linguistics, psychology, and more undermining various requirements of different industries.
The applications for artificial intelligence are never ending. The technology can be applied to almost all sectors and industries. AI is being tested and used in the healthcare industries for various in patients, and to accurately spot signs of a certain disease in medical images such as MRIs, x-rays, and CT scans.
Other advancement of machines with artificial intelligence include computers that can play chess and self-driving cars.
These self driving cars uses the data with a lot of car images to guess exactly when to apply brake or to slow down. In this way the computer system of self-driving cars' must account for all external data and compute it to act in a way that prevents a collision.
Apart from technical world AI also has applications in the financial industry, where it is used to detect and flag activity in banking and finance such as unusual debit card usage and large account deposits—all of which help a bank's fraud department. Applications for AI are also being used to help investors in better detecting better streamline and thereby making trade easier. This would make supply, demand, and pricing of securities easier to estimate.
