This idea wouldn’t leave my head, so I turned it into a platform.

I kept noticing the same pattern every time I used a digital marketplace. Sellers were invisible unless they paid for ads. Buyers had no real protection. Platforms took huge cuts while doing almost nothing to help the people actually using them. And the entire system felt like it was designed to control you instead of support you. That idea kept bothering me. Why does the internet call these places “marketplaces” when they don’t act like one at all?

So I built something different.

BuyAndSell.market is built around the way real markets work. Not the modern “platform” version. I mean the original idea. A bazaar. A bazaar is simple. You show up, put your product out, and people can see it. No algorithm deciding who gets attention. No paying for visibility. No follower requirement. No tricks. Just an open environment where everyone has a chance to be seen. That’s the experience I wanted to bring online because nothing today works like that anymore.

The biggest problem I kept seeing wasn’t even the scams. It was the payment systems these platforms rely on. Most of them use PayPal because it gives them control. They can hold your money, delay payouts, freeze accounts, and stack fees on top of fees. That’s why platforms like Fiverr and Upwork feel so restrictive. Their power comes from PayPal letting them control your income. Stripe is the opposite. Stripe is neutral. Stripe doesn’t let platforms play with your money or punish you randomly. It forces real identity, real verification, and real accountability. That’s why I built everything on Stripe. It’s the only processor that actually protects both sides instead of protecting the platform.

With Stripe handling identity checks, payouts, fraud detection, and verification, the usual problems disappear. Delivery is automatic. Payments are handled cleanly. Sellers can’t vanish after getting paid. Buyers can’t take the product and run. Both sides are tied to real information, not throwaway accounts. The system stays stable because Stripe enforces the rules, not the platform.

The purpose of BuyAndSell.market is straightforward. A place where people that are 18+ can sell digital products without fighting algorithms or paying for visibility, and a place where younger buyers can purchase something without worrying about getting played. Everything is consistent, predictable, and handled in the background. No inflated fees. No visibility tax. No payout games. No platform working against you. Just a clean, honest environment built for people who want to earn or buy without stress.

If you want the full breakdown of the patterns I saw and the reasoning behind the platform, I wrote a full blog post about it.
