Disclosure: I'm the maker of Jisuan. This is a walkthrough of the current public beta, with examples from its documentation.
A browser form often asks for a final number when what you have is an expression: two amounts to add, a unit price multiplied by quantity, or a date plus a number of days. Jisuan brings that calculation beside the supported Chrome field.
The workflow
- Install Jisuan on your Mac using the official download.
- Enter an expression in a supported Chrome text field.
- Press Command + Option + =.
- Review the candidate result and confirm the value to write back.
The result goes into the same field only after you select it.
Three examples
| Task | Input | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Add two amounts | =12580+3690 |
16,270 |
| Multiply price and quantity | =100*90 |
9,000 |
| Add 45 days | 2026-09-15 + 45d |
2026-10-30 |
Pro also supports financial expressions. For example, 108000 incl. 13% tax produces a net amount of 95,575.22. Core calculations are free; financial expressions are part of Pro.
A few boundaries that matter
The current beta targets Google Chrome on macOS and supported HTML input fields. Password, secure, and read-only inputs are refused. Calculations run locally on the Mac, and the app uses Decimal precision.
For anyone building utilities that write into another interface, the interaction is worth considering: trigger explicitly, show the candidate, and let the user confirm the change. A calculated number can still be the wrong value for the field the user intended. Keeping the preview and insertion as separate steps gives the user a chance to catch that.
Try it
The English website includes the download, tutorial, and help pages. If you try it, feedback about a specific input field or expression would be useful. Which calculation do you repeatedly copy between a browser form and a calculator?
