It isn’t.
Copilot is a platform architecture exposure test.
It doesn’t “add access.”
It doesn’t invent permissions.
It doesn’t bypass governance.
Copilot executes at the speed of your existing control plane — identity, device posture, information protection truth, tool boundaries, audit coverage, and incident response.
That behavior is not a bug.
It is the design.
Copilot Is Working Exactly as Intended
Copilot inherits everything your Microsoft 365 platform already allows:
- Identity state
- Session behavior
- Device posture
- Information protection decisions
- Sharing models
- Connector and plugin permissions
- Telemetry and audit coverage
Copilot accelerates time-to-impact, not capability.
If trust is fragmented, Copilot exposes it faster.
If governance is weak, Copilot amplifies consequences.
If containment is slow, Copilot makes it visible.
Copilot feels risky only when the platform underneath it is.

If you cannot answer these, Copilot is enabled — not implemented.

Copilot is not changing Microsoft 365.
