Most hackathons are a waste of time. This one isn’t.

Over the past few months, we’ve been building out a blockchain ecosystem at QIE Blockchain.

The idea was simple: reduce the usual friction (fees, tooling, setup) so devs can focus on building products instead of plumbing.

We’re now opening this up through a structured hackathon.

Not a weekend sprint — more like a 60-day build window where you start from scratch and ship something usable.

A few constraints we’re enforcing:

projects have to be original (no forks/clones)
must actually run (working MVP + demo)
built on top of the QIE stack

Judging is mostly weighted toward:

whether it solves a real problem
how well it’s built
whether people would actually use it

There’s a prize pool, but honestly the more interesting part is seeing what kind of products emerge when the infra is already there.

If you like building things from zero and shipping them properly, this might be worth a look.
