I Built a ₹150/Day Gym Diet Guide for Indian College Students
Most gym advice online assumes you have unlimited money.
Protein powders, expensive meal plans, supplements, fancy foods.
But the reality for many college students in India looks very different:
• limited pocket money
• hostel mess food
• irregular schedules
So I decided to build a small project that solves a simple problem:
How can a student follow a gym diet with only ₹150 per day?
The Idea
Instead of giving generic advice, I created a practical guide using affordable Indian foods like:
- eggs
- dal
- peanuts
- soya chunks
- rice
- seasonal vegetables
The goal was to show that building muscle doesn't require expensive supplements.
What the Article Includes
The guide covers:
• Daily protein requirements for gym beginners
• Budget vegetarian protein sources
• Affordable non-veg options like eggs and chicken
• A simple 7-day meal plan
• Monthly food cost breakdown
• Common beginner diet mistakes
• Tips for hostel students with limited cooking options
Tech Stack Used
I also used this as a small SEO + web dev experiment.
Tech stack:
- Next.js
- Tailwind CSS
- Vercel deployment
- Google Search Console for indexing
The goal was to practice:
• SEO-friendly page structure
• clean blog layout
• fast loading page
• keyword focused article

Why I Built This
Many students quit the gym because they think healthy eating is expensive.
But with the right food choices, it's possible to maintain a solid gym diet even on a tight budget.
Hopefully this guide helps someone who's trying to stay fit without spending a fortune.
If you were a college student trying to build muscle on a budget, what foods would you rely on?
