Free Achievement Certificate Templates for Kids & Students

Create award certificates for your students or kids in minutes — no design software, no ugly watermarks, print-ready PNG export. All in your browser.

It's the start of the new school year, and every teacher knows the ritual: the first awards ceremony rolls around and you need a certificate that doesn't look like it was pasted together in Word. Every online generator I tried either watermarked the result, forced a signup, or shipped designs that looked like clip art. So I built a free certificate maker with proper templates — achievement awards, completion, recognition — that print clean and take two minutes.

1. What makes a kids' certificate look professional

Before touching any tool, get the structure right — the elements that make a certificate read as "real":

  • The award type — "Certificate of Achievement", "Outstanding Effort", "Perfect Attendance". Be specific; it's what makes the moment feel earned.
  • The recipient's name — large and centered. This is the part kids frame.
  • The reason line — short but personal, like "for consistently going above and beyond in Science".
  • The date, signer and seal — a signature line and a small logo or seal at the bottom anchor it.

Skip the clip-art sunbursts and comic fonts. A clean border, one accent color, and a real serif or script title reads "school", not "party store".

2. Design shortcuts that work every time

Three formulas that look good with zero design skill:

  • School colors: pick the two colors from your school logo and use them for the border + title. Instant consistency.
  • Serif title + script name: a formal serif for "Certificate of Achievement", a script for the student's name.
  • One seal, bottom-right: a single round seal or medallion at the bottom right — not scattered stamps.

3. How to make one in two minutes (in your browser)

  1. Pick a template (achievement, completion, recognition — 26 available).
  2. Choose the certificate type and let the built-in wording library auto-fill professional phrasing.
  3. Type the name, date and signer — the preview updates live.
  4. Export as a high-res PNG and print (or laminate — teachers, you know).

4. The mistakes that make certificates look cheap

  • Text overflowing the frame — happens constantly. Use a live preview and keep names short.
