Hi everyone ๐
Iโm Alasdair, a new developer who has been learning web development and building small projects on my own (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, APIs, PHP, and a bit of Bootstrap/Leaflet).
Recently, I realized the biggest mistake Iโve made so far is not being eager enough to collaborate early on. I stayed in my own bubble and didnโt reach out for community support and as a result, I feel like I missed out on valuable learning opportunities.
So today, Iโm putting myself out there.
I want to learn from others, get feedback, and actively join real projects, whether they're small, beginner-friendly, open source, or just for practice.
๐ Iโm looking for:
โ Beginner-friendly open-source projects
โ Teams or developers who are happy to collaborate
โ Tips on where to find mentoring or coding partners
โ Communities or Discord servers that welcome newer devs
โ Guidance on how to level up by contributing
โ Any project ideas I can help with
๐ ๏ธ What I can currently do:
Build front-end interfaces (HTML/CSS/JS)
Use APIs in full projects
Work with JSON, AJAX, PHP for backend basics
Create maps with Leaflet + custom markers
Build working applications with organised folders, assets, vendor scripts
Follow Git and GitHub workflows
Learn fast and take feedback well
Here is my GitHub where Iโm beginning to upload more of my work:

๐ If youโre open to helping a new dev grow, Iโm all ears.
Whether itโs pointing me to a community, recommending resources, or inviting me into a small project, Iโd really appreciate the support.
Thanks for reading. Iโm excited to finally be part of a community rather than coding alone! ๐
