Are We Witnessing the Biggest Shift in Recruitment Tech Since LinkedIn?

I’ve been in the recruitment space for a while, and I can’t shake the feeling that we’re standing at the edge of a massive shift, one that’s going to reshape how companies hire talent forever.

I remember when LinkedIn came onto the scene. Suddenly, recruiters had this powerful database of professionals at their fingertips. It didn’t replace networking, but it changed how we networked.

Now, it feels like AI in recruitment is doing the same thing… but faster, and on a much bigger scale.

I’ve been testing out AI tools that can:

  • Scan hundreds of resumes in seconds
  • Conduct structured voice interviews
  • Automatically keep candidates engaged so they don’t ghost mid-process

One tool I’ve tried recently, BotFriday AI, integrates directly into an ATS and runs the whole screening and interviewing process in the background.

It’s eerie (in a good way) to watch candidates get assessed while you’re focused on strategic hiring decisions.

It makes me wonder, are recruiters going to shift from “screening candidates” to “coaching hiring managers” full time? Will the hiring process become 90% automated and 10% human judgment?

Curious what others here think of AI in the recruitment world. How far are we from completely replacing screening rounds with AI?
